AND ALPHABETICAL

Or perhaps a sorting option for alphabetical, reverse alphabetical, chronological, and reverse chronological.

Seriously, I'd like an alphabetical list for slime salad here, it makes trying to find some older games a pain because who knows what page OHRadius is on, am I right? V

You can already do both of those. When on the gamelist, there's a pull down tab right above "new topic." You can search alphabetical, latest changes, and various other stuff.

Why have I not found this before ._.

thank ye

I think this thread just shows how much we need a better gamelist.
One with catergories, like Full Length Done, done, demo, tech demo, and terrible.

Yes, agreed. I have something I am building with those features, but lately I haven't been putting time into it. Hmmm. This spreadsheet gives me an interesting idea though...

I have been filling in details. It turns out that the majority of the games on the spreadsheet so far have been entered into at least one contest! Perhaps rereleases for Gameathon and HotOHR contests aren't interesting though.

I think most OHR games in general are entered into at least 1 contest.
At least that's been the case for the last few years.

Sad, isn't it? Or maybe that's good?

I don't think it's either a shame or good.
It's just the way things work.
People are less likely to make a short and sweet little game for no reason. Everyone here wants to make that huge epicly long RPG. These things take a massive amount of time to do though and it's why we see so many unfinished games in the community.
Contests on the other hand give community members a reason to take a break from their current projects and make a fast short game.
That's why it's best for contests to have short time frames, otherwise people see the contest as requiring more time than they are willing to divert from their main project. It's also why most people whip something up at the last minute and make a note of having done so.
Ideally, developers would be able to find some sort of middle ground between making epicly long rpgs and super small tech demos.

It's kind of ironic that you mention that... the current game I am working on was suppose to be a simple short game of saving some chick in distress... such a simple idea, and now the game has turned into much more. There's now lots of side quests, crafting, more than one town, backstory for each town and various relations between the main character and many NPCs.

I never originally intended this game to become such a large project, but that's how the cookie crumbles with me. Well, it's not really that large, just larger than originally intended.

That's why when I plan my next game, I am going to start with a super simple idea, and see how the game grows from there. I'm never usually good with a set plan anyways. I find if I set to many goals for myself I end up completing almost nothing and the project becomes unfinished and neglected.

I guess I'm one of those "in the moment" type of people, I rarely set myself a "life plan" and take things as they happen.

True true, but I'm trying to get a small one done first (thus Merciful Mungbeans).

I plan on revisiting AR-PUH-GUH! some time, maybe, or at least building something based of the idea of the game and make a massive RPG that's mostly about side-questing.

Triangle's Maze is literally at the end. I have like 6 or 7 backdrops I need to do for the actual ending so we can finish up. I keep wanting to make them look like how Megaman 9 & 10's cutscenes were and I have the absolute most difficult time doing it. I WILL finish it this year. It needs a solid month of testing after this. It does unfortunately have ripped music as well.

A list of games I wouldn't mind having on the completed list of mine.

Batman & Robin
OHR House Heroes : Season 1
Scare Spree
Surf's Up Yuk
Mr. Triangle's Maze (when finished)

I think this is a great thing you're doing!
Check out Red Triangle Games!
