Earthbound is really considered good because of it's atmosphere being rather relatable but parodied enough to not being boring. And groovy music.

Chrono Trigger is special for a bundle of reasons, I suppose being "time travel done right" could be one.

An interesting RPG which is very popular, other than FF6 is Earthbound and of course Chrono Trigger.

Mother 3 is good for other reasons, mostly involving it's character development.

Having a vision would be a very good thing.
Espacially a *team-vision*, so we can all call this *our* vision and work according to it.
One thing we'd agree upon was that the style of the game sould be family friendly/toony, and it's clear that it's an OHR game for OUYA.
We should write this vision down, best at the beginning on the thread.

Do we stick to the story Giz came up with?
Or do we search for something else, beside the vision we seach for?
I'm asking all of this again, because I am not sure if I understood everything right, depending on the aswer to this question, you might ignore the following textblock:

I still have the "pupils fight alien"-story. Characters are set up (Cool Guy, Nerd, Freaky Girl, Dog) and I have an idea/story (or vision) how the whole game should turn out in the end, but I don't want to ask you to go with that project, if you rather make an other game.
I plan to stick with the idea of the story and don't want to change it to something that differs to much from the original idea, but usually when doing teamwork you have to compromise. On the other hand I'd like to get help with that project.

NO!

This is all wrong!

We have a team of mostly scripters so far, and you want to do a scriptless RPG?!
NO!

Our plan for a great community defining game is a generic RPG?
NO!

THE NEW PLAN!
There's a game thats so awesome that it's never been made.
A game that became legend the moment it was thought.
I'm talking about AIRSHIP 2600.

Airship 2600.

And none of this everyone is welcome and equal non-sense.
If you want to join, you need to say so on this thread, and describe what you think you can do for the game.

The plans for this game are far beyond just OUYA.
This game will be the next big INDY sensation. We'll tour conventions and make a kickstarter and go freaking crazy with this thing.
This isn't just messing around anymore, this is big boy Indy development time.

If you're choosen to be part of the project, you'll be invited to the RPG usergroup here on Slimesalad.
UNLESS MOGRI WOULD BE NICE ENOUGH TO MAKE A NEW ONE FOR THIS, PLEASE.

Apparently people sometimes like my graphics and textboxes. Wish I could be more enthusiastic about my ability to aid the project over the long run.

Don't make Airship 2600 you jackass. The whole point of the gag is that it doesn't exist and is better than anything anyone could ever make.

I think this game should be as in-jokey as possible and by in I mean internal and by that I mean why aren't you working on Fart Quest?

The Colab RPG was finished the moment it started. Anyone who's tried a big colab project like it before could see the failure coming from a mile away.

I'm sorry if you feel that Airship 2600 shouldn't be made.

The project is as much out of my control as it is yours.
The game will be made. There's no stopping it.

This game is beyond in jokes. It's beyond everything.

Perhaps out of respect for the awesomeness of the original AIRSHIP 2600, this should be titled AIRSHIP 2599, or AIRSHIP 2601

I had actual thought that changing the title was a good idea. People outside the community wouldn't get the reference, and 2600 sounds like the future.
Airship 2600 is more of a working title, and a device to hype up the game.

Honestly, it's just a game idea I have that I think is pretty good and that I've decided to try to develop with the help of the community, as was the goal of the thread.

No. We already have a usergroup specifically for collaboration games. You are already a member of this usergroup. I am not going to make a special forum for a game that you just announced. Please don't use the Roleplaying forum for your personal projects.

Giz, I've added you to the Collaboration group (as a moderator since Blue Train isn't around these days and I can't feasibly keep track of membership), though if you'd rather organize things in the public, feel free to ignore that forum.
