I already submitted a bug report, but I've been having issues with no music or sound effects playing for the OHRRPGCE, and wanted to see if anyone had any solutions. It's on my Lenovo laptop. The previous ASUS I had also was Windows 7 but the sound worked fine.
Any possible solutions as to why I'm having sound problems? I already tried compatibility modes and made sure I didn't somehow have the volume for those executables off (as well as different nightlies and the stable build).. I'm not sure what the problem is but hopefully it's just something really dumb I'm overlooking?
I have nothing to say that is of use for your situation but I wanted to say its good to hear from you.

Okay, I finally figured out what the problem was.
It seems to have to do with my user profile. The thing with my user profile is that it's written in Korean. The directory path to it is also written in Korean.
I actually considered this might be the problem so I had tried moving my folder back out to just C:\, but the sound didn't play. On a hunch, I tried making a user profile that was also in English and at that point and had the folder out in C:\, the sound played.
So I guess the bug should be... the OHR doesn't play sound when usernames/folders have non English directory paths? I'll post this on Bugzilla as well.

Well, yikes. This is why need we need to carefully handle unicode input even if we don't actually support unicode text. I'm simultaneously surprised that Windows' mountains of backcompatibility layers didn't manage to hide the problem for non-unicode-aware programs, and not surprised that the OHR managed to screw it up anyway.
Also, hi, nice to see you again!

Hey TMC
Need to make a correction - it seems to only be the User folder. I changed my Windows User folder back to English and tried the OHR in the Korean folder - lo and behold, it still works!
It seems really bizarre, but not overly? All my AGS games would also shut down or consequently be unable to locate save files, but now that it's in English, it's all working again...
