Random Colab Story

In the spirit of Random Colab Week here at the OHR, I decided to start a thread story. Basically how it works is this, someone posts a sentence of the story and then you post the next sentence of the story, and then someone else continues the story with a sentence of their own. I'll start.


"Where are all these squid coming from?" said Bob.

They continually fell from the sky above like demented squiggly raindrops.

"I don't think it's going to let up soon." Alice said warily to Bob.

It was a bad move on her part; Bob was not a man who took kindly to being talked to that way.

"Alice, I know full well it's not going to stop. But standing around here is not going to solve anything." Bob said sternly to Alice.

What they didn't know was that Mallory was listening to the entire conversation.

"So, I see you got yourself a squid problem." Mallory said slyly to Bob and Alice, with a particular sneer on her face.

Mallory's sneer looked especially cruel due to her disfiguring facial rash.

The squids continued to rain forth from the sky, pelting the trio relentlessly.

In the street lots of misplaced animals with 10 arms climbed on cars and hang from steetslights and fell of roofs and made funny sounds, while more of them came down from the sky.

They didn't stop coming, it was a spectacle to behold for sure.

Then suddenly, one of the squid things looked at Bob and spoke in a voice that sounded of a squeegee being dragged across mucus covered bathroom tiles: "Daaadddy?"

Bob was stricken with emotion. He had a difficult moment to ponder whether to deny this strangeness, or to fess up to Alice about what he had been up to all these years.

The squids finally stopped falling and an eerie silence fell over the area.

All at once, the squids all popped into a mess of squidy guts and squiggly tentacles, painting the street squid.
