That's the question. ^^"
Do you play them at all?
What do you like, don't you like about them?
I've been playing widelands and freeciv recently, as well as my favorite mmorpg illarion, concering the last one i'm don't think the graphics are open souce, but the code is.
Widelands got boring very soon, but it's fun to watch the little figues carring all the producs from one banner to the next one. It's some kind of Settlers 2 clone, a game I liked to play when I was younger.
Playing freeciv I always loose agains the Computer, even in the easiers setting. It's a bit frustrating. -.-" But I like the game's idea of building a nation and seeing how it progresses throug time with inventions and such. A bit like rewriting history. It's fun that you can play as martians. ^^"
Illarion, is a game for roleplayers set in a medival fantasy world, before the Very Big Update it was even more made for roleplayers, now it's seems to be becoming more like the average mmorpgs, focusing more on players who play pc games. There were NPC quests added and rank points, for example. Still I enjoy playing the the people there.
I have played a lot of Battle for Wesnoth (although not recently, since I kinda burned myself out on it)
I enjoy Powder, which is a nice roguelike
Hex-a-Hop is a nice puzzle game
Although not a game in of itself, I use ScummVM to play a bunch of other games.
And I must mention that my Mom's favorite game is open-source: Lbreakout2
I know I am forgetting a bunch... Unfortunately, just like with OHR games, a lot of promising open-source games release demos but never get completed :(

I used to play Powder a lot when I had a GBA flash cart. Ahh, those were the days (of dying repeatedly to kiwis)
I know I've played a bunch of Open Source games...but I can't think of any! It's driving me crazy. Hmm...

KIIIIIWIIIIIII!!!!! I keep dieing to cockatrices and their petrification cheapness. It turns out I can't just stare them down like Fluttershy, I do indeed morph into a statue and decorate the 11th, or 12th floor....or something.

I feel about the same way, haven't played it in years. Back then I started generating ideas for a custom campaign with all new units and and maps and such. I still want to follow through with that once I get used to the alien concept of drawing sprites with an alpha channel.
This other time, I took an entire evening of boredom and conceptualized half of the original Pokemon as Wesnoth units. It was a fun thought exercise!
I can't recommend Sil enough to those who enjoy roguelikes:
http://www.amirrorclear.net/flowers/game/sil/
Basically it's an Angband variant, that removes most monsters, implements its own systems, and tries to stay as true to Tolkien as possible.
It's bloody hard, and the objective isn't to kill Morgoth (just to steal a Silmaril from his crown) which I like.
It also removes leveling up in favor of just improving stats and buying special abilities. Stealth is heavily rewarded, you get experience for just seeing monsters, and if you try and clear out every floor you will most certainly die.
I was very turned off of the whole Ascii thing at first, but I actually think it really works for this game.

I've also played a lot of Wesnoth in the past, but not in the last year or two. And a lot of roguelikes. Most recently Nethack 4, Cataclysm, and a little Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup.
Anyone interested in Rogue-likes should try Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup if they haven't already. It can't be beat in terms of variety, complexity, and ease of play. In my opinion, it is the perfect balance of challenge, elegance, and fun.

I don't know, it was fun and all, but I never really got into it. Not sure why though. My favorite roguelike has always been ADOM.
