Guess what weekend it is....

So, post your updates to games and stuff here! Show off, by creative, be a rip-off artist, do all sorts of nutty things, just work on your game and you win a prize: Getting closer to being done with the game!

This weekend, I may be working on Merciful Mungbeans, as that needs to get finished. It may be ready by HotOHR2014, which would be cool to submit it for that contest.

More like Work-On-Moving weekend for me, sorry. Would have liked to do some work on Synth, since I got some new ideas for other races.

Doubt I'm gonna get much done on Melituri Madness, but I'm willing to try!

Also started a new project called "Lulzy house". I'm sure you all can guess what inspired THAT! V

Once again I'm not working on a game... but I've still been working on sprites. Hurr

This weekend I hope to work on Triangle's Adventure. Got a lot of little things to work on before moving forward.

Rebalancing the 4th party member, setting up scripts that change all of his attacks based on which rocket launcher he has equipped. There are also a few minor tweaks to be made to the game in general. Hopefully I can knock them out this weekend.

The idea of a dedicated weekend for game production is a solid idea!

Well, here's what I've been up to this weekend.



A few palette swaps of some grass tiles I did a couple years ago. There's a flavor for every palette!



Rain. Four frame animation.



Some cobblestone.



A little tileset I've been working on. I'll be adding some more furniture and such, and the stained glass windows need some extra work.

It's time for the Super Penguin Chef magic overhaul! What's changing?

Generally, ultimate skills now cost about half as much MP to use. This makes them affordable for occasional random encounters. Potions were also changed, making them restore fixed amounts of HP/MP instead of percentages. This makes them more worthwhile at the start of the game, and later, you have enough money to buy as many as you want anyway.

Pengler's kit was already in a pretty good place, but it was hard to justify spending turns on Bubble when Pengler should be a damage dealer. Bubble was retooled to apply to the entire party, meaning fewer turns spent casting it. Additionally, Snowball was replaced, since it offered a third direct damage spell that wasn't distinct enough from Ice Cube.
  • Snowball is replaced with Freshen Up, which heals for 15/25/35% Magic and adds Regen for the same amount at the cost of 2 MP.
  • Bubble no longer increases M-Defend, but it applies to the whole party.
  • Grand Finale costs 15 MP (was 25 MP).


Hogg Wilde received a boost in Magic scaling on several of his spells. Grease was changed partly to support the Bubble change and partly because the cheesy perfect evasion build isn't all that fun to execute.
  • Piggy costs 8/4/1 MP (was 10/5/1 MP). The collection of Snouts will be tied to an in-game quest.
  • Hug heals for 150/200/250% Magic and costs 4/5/6 MP (was 100/150/200% Magic for 3/5/7 MP).
  • Cheer heals for 100/125/150% Magic and costs 5/6/7 MP (was 80/100/120% Magic and 5/7/9 MP).
  • Grease increases the entire party's M-Defend instead of Evade.
  • Sizzle costs 5 MP (was 8 MP).
  • Bacon Saver heals for 200% Magic and costs 15 MP (was 150% Magic and 30 MP).


Mr. Slitherbottom lost Magic scaling on Stun Fang and Mute Fang, partly for balance reasons and partly to simplify the spell descriptions. To compensate for being his only remaining attack to scale with Magic, Venom Fang's scaling increased slightly. Additionally, Blind, Mute, and Stun all received cost reductions to make them more attractive alternatives to the no-brainer Venom and Drain Fangs.
  • Venom Fang poisons for 50/85/120% Magic (was 50/75/100% Magic).
  • Drain Fang costs 3/4/5 MP (was 3/5/7 MP).
  • Stun Fang stuns for 2/3/4 seconds instead of scaling with Magic, and it costs 4/5/6 MP (was 7/9/11 MP).
  • Mute Fang mutes for 3/5/7 seconds instead of scaling with Magic, and it costs 4 MP (was 6 MP).
  • Blind Fang reduces Aim by 20/35/50 and costs 3 MP (was 15/25/35 Aim and 4/5/6 MP).
  • Death Fang costs 10 MP (was 20 MP).


Altagator didn't require major changes, but most of his spells got a cost reduction. Shout was way too good and is the only spell to get nerfed outright.
  • Roar costs 3/4/5 MP (was 3/5/7 MP).
  • Shout increases Speed by 4/6/8 (was 4/8/12).
  • Thrash costs 5 MP and deals 10% Attack damage to the caster (was 6/8/10 MP and 20% Attack damage).
  • Boost costs 2/3/4 MP (was 5/6/7 MP).
  • Crush costs 6 MP (was 10 MP).
  • Chain Chomp costs 12 MP (was 25 MP).

Sure, the first of december IS tomorrow, but this weekend is 2/3 november. The way I figure it, woygw should only fall on weekends that are in the majority.
ANYWHO! I hope to be caught up in my programming homework enough to actually work on Merciful Mungbeans project this up-coming weekend. You know, just putting my paper to digital.
