Now that all the vehicle problems have finally been solved, I can finally get to work on what is pretty much the final traditional dungeon in Universal Wars, and maybe improve some of the floors too, such as the circles in Portside Vista, and the wooden floors that everyone seems to complain about.

I'm starting on a 30-day challenge [specifically, this one], which will give me a whole bunch of sprites to use by the end of it.
Might have a go at drawing some other graphics I kinda desperately need to do as well.

I am working on Bob the Hamster Dirt Dig

Friday evening, I made it so that Bob can struggle his way out of a spiderweb in 10 turns if no enemy kills him in that time.

Today I am working on web-struggling sprites for all the enemies, and AI for the spider to react to a victim in a web.

Finished outlining a "continent" and working on some tiles I started last night.

Thoses tiles look nice! Smile

I'll have to draw a tileset of trees, as I realized yesterday, that I can't use NPC-trees as walls because I couldn't place engought of them on one map.

I'm still wondering how I can make my forest map more interesting, by adding NPCs. Maybe as hidden items or something that blocks the way and calls a battle script... Do you have other ideas?

Make NPC trees, make some sort of saw or axe item that you use and it removes a tree NPC, revealing the way to treasure and stuff.

Building on that idea, you could add brush to the forest. Then add a machete item that you can use to cut through those areas. You could even make getting the machete a small quest, that way you could block off certain parts of the forest until later in the game when you want the player to access those areas.

Thanks, I basicly used the style of mountains from the old pokemon games. I need to change the town icons to be a bit more overhead. Speaking of pokemon the forest ideas reminded me of that.

I also feel reminded of a pokemon-style forest.
But my forest design was also inspred by these games, I admit. xD

I like the idea with a removeabe blockade, but destroying trees is a bit unfitting for the story I'm planning to make... I'll use this idea, just that you have to find a small stone and a large branche to build a lever to move larger stones out of your way. Grin

P.S. I just got this ides while writing the response. Surprised

I liked that video.
I think, I'll try making a Intro for my game using this method of animating things. But I shall be using Gimp as drwaing program. But, well... maybe next werkend, not now. Grin

Yep, I was thinking of switching the items over to the new format-- I'll wait till after beelzebufo.

I am glad the timelapse is pleasant to watch :)
