Does he...does he have a pot on his head?
That gives me confidence in anyone, really, wearing kitchen gear into battle. Does he use a giant chopstick as a lance, too?
If you've just bought the shop, you should recall that the King in Endor wanted a word with you once you had actually managed to buy the shop.
This reminds of Breath of Fire 2, that wonderful RPG where half of my characters spent the first third of the game or so wearing "SaladBwl" as their helmet.

Oh my god, I didn't even think about that. By complete chance I found a Ladle yesterday, which somehow qualifies as an axe weapon. I'm totally charging him into battle with that next time.

Hey guys, I just had a couple thoughts I was hoping may open up some discussion!
First off, if any of you have played FE Path of Radiance / Radiant Dawn, what did you think about them? I personally thought they were the best fire emblems in the series, but people think otherwise it seems. I haven't played the old Fire Emblems either, so I guess I'm not too cultured with the series, but I thought the story and character development (for the most part, although the support system in RD made me want to cry after PoR did it so beautifully) were phenomenal... plus obviously, it's Fire Emblem- the game play is great!
(Also, is the new Fire Emblem for the 3DS any good if anyone has it? I'm thinking of getting it, but I really did not like Shadow Dragon. At all. I thought the reclassing system was really weird. Maybe I hate change.)
Second, Paper Mario. What do you think of the series? I loved the first and second ones (original and Thousand Year Door), but I have yet to really enjoy the newest two (although I really haven't given them that much chance, I guess). I kinda wish they'd just make a new one that has the old style of gameplay... it was awesome!
Third, and last, Zelda. I honestly thought Skyward Sword was one of the very few games that really lived up to its hype. Even TP was good even if it was super easy, the atmosphere and such was cool. In fact, I have loved every Zelda game that's not on a handheld. I won't go into depth onto this one I guess since I'd have too much to say unless someone wants to talk about it!
That's all for now, thanks in advance for responses! Feel free to post whatever! I'll try to do the same.

I felt inspired to repost your inquiry here, hope you don't mind. I love Fire Emblem, you see, I've played every game in the series short of the SNES remake of the first game and that DS one that was Japan-exclusive. I thought that Path of Radiance had one of the best stories in the series, backed up by its support conversations and a plethora of unique pre-boss battle dialogues that sometimes come out of nowhere (like between Soren and Petrine) that offer new insight into the characters involved. Radiant Dawn was the most beautiful game in the series and had some excellent additions to the gameplay, like the improved skills system and having height bonuses/penalties.
Awakening is arguably the best Fire Emblem to date, and its Reclass system feels a lot more natural and streamlined than in Shadow Dragon. To use the main lord, Chrom, as an example, he can be promoted straight away into a Great Lord, or you can shift him into a Cavalier, or an Archer. Doing so will earn him some new Skills unique to those classes, and when he's ready to promote again, you can make him a Paladin or Great Knight, or a Sniper or Bow Knight, depending on what you chose earlier. The options are limited and unique to each character, and some characters will always be better at certain things than others. A Pegasus Knight reclassed into a Sage will not perform as well with magic compared to a natural-born magician, but she will still perform acceptably until she's ready to reclass again with all the Sage skills in tow.
I'd like to give a quick tangential mention to the DLC maps in Awakening. Say what you will about paying extra for DLC, but I went and bought the "EXPonential Growth" map and have greatly appreciated its obvious benefits. I don't have much time for level grinding nowadays and I'm happy to take it out of the equation, and I'll probably say the same about building supports between characters when the "Summer of Bonds" maps come out for America later.
On Paper Mario, I'm pretty sure everyone shares your sentiments. I find it hilarious that Super Paper Mario had so much of a story to tell that it polarized the fan base, and then Sticker Star comes up with almost no story to tell (even though it was made by I.S., same company that made Fire Emblem, how about that) and we all get to feelin' uncomfortable about that, too. Well, uncomfortable nothing, I was downright angry when I found out that the teaser material from before, which greatly resembled PM:TTYD, had almost completely been thrown out the window. I wanted a Chain Chomp partner! How dare they take that experience away from me!
Anyone want to chime on in Skyward Sword? I haven't played that yet.
I loved Paper Mario, not so much its sequel. I guess I really liked the mechanics of the first game, and especially the continuity of the overworld. TTYD was a bit drearier and disconnected with its use of the sewers as a method of travel. But that's just me. Also, I thought that Super Paper Mario was incredibly boring by the time I played it (about 6 months ago). I just hated the mechanics so much. I haven't played the 3DS version (no 3DS), but I'm excited for it nonetheless.
Fire Emblem...I only played the first and second GBA games extensively. I like them a lot, but I don't think I'm strategic enough to succeed at them. I do love the characters dearly though, even though they move around like paper dolls. I just die a lot.
I am so booored with Zelda. Maybe I'm just too old for it, but I thought that Twilight Princess was a drudging rehash of Ocarina of Time, and I didn't get past the 2 hour long tutorial dungeon. Ugh. The last Zelda game I really, really enjoyed was Majora's Mask, which happens to be my favorite version of the game. I also really enjoyed the two GBC Zelda games, although they weren't really all that memorable. Haven't played Skyward Sword at all.

@Bacon
I'm glad someone agrees with me about PoR and RD! I really loved almost everything about them (although I couldn't make it past part 1 on hard in RD, haha).
I will have to pick up Awakening if that's the case, then. I thought the reclassing system could be cool, but just being able to randomly switch back and forth to up certain stats in SD was weird.
As far as Skyward Sword goes... I cannot praise the game enough. I agree with Cube about TP- a lot of it was similar to OoT (in the sense that it was a bit more serious of an atmosphere), but SS really, in my opinion, is my favorite Zelda game. Even better than OoT, and WW (which I thought was amazing, screw the GameCube haters. Sunshine was fantastic too.). The motion controls, unlike in TP, were meaningful. I honestly felt like I was improving at becoming a swordsman as link was. It starts out against simple enemies, but weird to use, but as enemies get tougher and react more to the direction you swing, you have become more used to it, and faster... more accurate. I thought it was absolutely perfect provided you're willing to stand. I don't want to go into any spoilers, but as far as a lot of the design went, the exploration was pretty good (even though the Sky/Overworld isn't very good). The item upgrading system made it feel fun to collect stuff from enemies. The enemies would actually react to how you swing your sword.
AND, what I think was THE SINGLE BEST part about Skyward Sword, was the items. Mostly, the classics returned with a couple cool new ones, but the thing is, unlike other Zelda games, you actually needed to use them after the dungeon you got them in. This led to a new depth of thinking in dungeons... you didn't only need to figure out where to aim the only item from your dungeon anymore, you have to figure out what item to use!
Anyways, TL;DR, I will get Awakening, and SS is my personal favorite of the series.
@TheCube
I really enjoyed the sewers in TTYD. Maybe it was just me, haha- I can understand why you'd prefer the original though. It was kind of smoother in regard to going to different places.
What kind of games do you prefer playing, anyways, to get a gauge?
Also, you should give Windwaker or Skyward Sword a shot if you want slightly different types of Zelda (if you're still into the games anymore, that is)!
EDIT: Also, maybe I will give Super Paper Mario another try... I kind of tunnel visioned into it and figured it'd be like the older two, so maybe now that I've calmed down, I will enjoy it for what it is, haha.
You can't fix stupidity.

I hated Skyward Sword, and I forced myself to play to the end and do everything so that I could, in detail and justly, complain about nearly every bit of it.
Though I must say, it's probably my most favorite art style yet though. About the only real positive thing going for the game (in my book), but pretty looks make a good game not.

How could I forget Wind Waker? I actually really liked that game, despite its flaws. I guess the whole triforce treasure hunt at the end sullies my memory of it, but I did love it at the time. I might try Skyward Sword since your description makes it seem a lot better than I thought it would be.
I tend to prefer games with really tight mechanics in general. I also really dig atmospheric games as well. The best combination that I can think of for both is Majora's Mask. The game just had an incredible atmosphere and made sense to me in general. Other runners up would be SSX3 (for the single mountain + amazing boarding mechanics) and Wario Ware (weird I know, but that game has a lot of atmosphere in a really strange way). Possibly Pikmin as well (not 2, the dungeons in those were stupid). And maybe Dragon Quest Monsters as well.
In short, my taste in games is pretty far-reaching, but I'm very choosy about them. My absolute favorite game, ever, of all time, is Deadly Premonition, but it breaks both of my rules by being poor mechanically and having a completely bonkers atmosphere. It's just wonderful.

I HATED YOU.
I mean, what did you dislike about SS, haha? I'm assuming it's just a vastly different opinion that mine, but maybe I overlooked some stuff anyways.

The sub-par to annoying music, the kinda stupid storyline that's trying too hard to go with the bogus "official zelda timeline" (though some characters amuse in some cases, the rest just irritate me), the lack of anything interesting, and many other things.
But...
I would honestly probably have overlooked these things, slapping on them fancy rose-coloured glasses, if it really....REALLLLLLLLLLLLLY wasn't for one thing:
THE CONTROLS ARE TERRIBLE
Really, I found myself fighting the controls at nearly any moment in the game, and it really only became more apparent as time goes on, as the game tries to emphasize the motion+ stuff more and more.
With any game I can make a book on why I hate it, I try to point at least3 things I like about it though, here are mine:
1 - pretty art
2 - Shield bashing FINALLY being able to be used at one's leisure (if the controller isn't being spiteful)
3 - The variety and abilities of the shields (though if you get the hylian shield, the others are moot)
I've gotta go, so if I actually care to speak about this game I've already complained about to multiple people, then I suppose I'll talk more later.
I say, as with most things, that people should at least TRY it, though I wouldn't guarantee a good time to be had long-term.

Oh yea... the triforce hunt... But actually, other than that, I thought WW was great. I have yet to play Majora's Mask- it keeps freezing on my 64, I think I need one of those adapter pack thingies, but I really want to play it.
Also, I really, really need to pick up Pikmin. Everyone tells me those games are great. What kind of things do you have to say about DQMonsters? I never knew what to think about them, so I never got them.
@Meow:
As I figured, just a difference of opinions. Maybe I'm the weird one, but I found the controls to be nearly perfectly responsive as long as I was standing up. And I agree that there wasn't much of a story, but the timing of when you saw Zelda and what happened legit made me WANT to save her, which was more than I could say for most games (except OoT because I thought Zelda was cute, and WW because Tetra and Link actually formed a good connection). Also, I never got the hylian shield- I felt that the challenge things after the game weren't that cool, so I just kind of neglected them, haha.

I really really like every DQ Monsters game I've played. They're stupid and grindy, but I really just like breeding a team of badass monsters. It's really the monster design that keeps me around, plus the breeding mechanics which are much more interesting than Pokemon's breeding stuff. That's my take, anyway.
I love Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 the best of that series.

The first Pikmin was a true classic. Definitely play it, especially if you've never seen much of it before or watched another person play it. And don't use a walkthrough or speedrun guide unless you really need it, those things ruin the atmosphere and pacing of the game, though I suppose that could be applied to any other game requiring exploration.
Pikmin 2 is a bit more of a toss-up because it introduced so many new game mechanics at once. It's also very easy once you know what you're doing - I often run a "no Pikmin deaths" challenge when replaying it, but I rarely have trouble doing so, which isn't very fun. The Challenge Mode was interesting and offered some amusing gimmick levels, and the ability to go through it with 2 players is excellent and I really wish that was possible in the main campaign.
Which brings me to Pikmin 3. If it doesn't allow 2-4 (5? freaking game pad) player co-op in its campaign mode, I will eat my hat. This is something that the video game industry, and Nintendo especially, has perfected at this point. Ever seen the seamless split-screen effect in a Traveler's Tales game, like LEGO Harry Potter? That NEEDS to happen with Pikmin. I won't stand for anything less. My grandmother loves Pikmin as much as I do, so going through all of Pikmin 3 Co-Op style is just something that I really want to do with her someday.
Also I hear we're getting Rock Pikmin and Pinky Winky Pikmin. Good times!
