The Hamster Burrow December Roundup

I've decided to do a monthly roundup for the Hamster Burrow to bring attention to the new and cool articles people submit as well as set a theme for new submissions. Of course, I'm doing it 3 days later than I intended to, which will more than likely set the precedent for roundups to come. I am nothing if not fashionably late.

Articles in December

Introduction to Maze Techniques in the OHRRPGCE by Willy Elektrix focuses on maze design, and has some interesting tips specifically for OHR designers. A good read for designers, but also for the cruelly subjugated players of games with mazes.

I wrote a series of 30 Minutes With... articles for AR-PUH-GUH, Universal Wars, and The Kh'yurbhi Lands. These brief reviews will continue as long as my computer doesn't die from overexposure to holiday travel.

I also wrote a quick guide to the Heart of the OHR contest, which may or may not be a straight copy of Pepsi Ranger's list of games with little added blurbs. It's not plagiarism with credit, right?

January's Theme

This month's theme as decided by a committee of experts (or me) is Post-Mortems. Or post-partums if you prefer. A lot of games were released recently, and I'd love to hear about the development process from these most excellent creators. What went right? What went wrong? What will you do in the future when developing games? What tips would you give to burgeoning designers? And any other questions you may care to ask yourself!

Of course, this theme is only a suggestion to get the brain juices flowing and not exclusive. If you have something else you want to write, write it and send it in! I'm open to anything.

Other Stuff

If you have anything you want to say about the Hamster Burrow, like what you want to see more of or less of, suggestions for the site layout, cruel criticisms of my personal character, or anything else, feel free to post in this thread! Also, I'm looking for suggestions for next month's theme, as I pretty much used all my creativity coming up with this one.

Are you going to vote for all these games? If so, I'd recommend taking a screenshot or two while playing and including them with the game list so that people have a slightly more visual guide to the HotOHR2 games. Or you could do what James (?) did for the last contest and draw a few small MS Paint doodles somewhat related to each game and post those.
Anyone else out there is welcome to take up these suggestions and send the images to Hamster Burrow.

I suppose I could blab about how I feel what didn't go right and what I plan on doing in the future for AR-PUH-GUH!.

Unfortunately I'm not even sure if I'll get to play them all. Pictures sound like a good idea but I'd have to leave it up to someone else to provide appropriate screenshots/doodles.

I'd love to hear what your thoughts are, Meowskivich. We discussed doing it interview style in a PM and I like the idea. I'll figure out what the best way to do that would be, and if anybody else wants to do an interview sort of deal, that would be awesome.

I'd love to get interviewed about Cool Guy Bob Surlaw and maybe 8bit would want to be part of it too.

The only chat program I ever use is GChat but just doing it over e-mail works pretty much fine too.
