Any OHR games that are famous outside the OHR community?

The only game(s) I can think of off the top of my head is Arfenhouse. I was curious if there were other OHRRPGCE creations that have become fairly well-known around the web.

Maybe Dungeonmen? I think it placed in this one contest outside of the OHR community.

Well any answer to that question would be purely subjective. I don't personally think Arfenhouse was "famous" at all. I don't know a single person that's ever heard of it outside the OHR community.
If you're talking about some sort of number of hits that a game has received, it's a little hard to gauge that because of the multiple number of places a lot of OHR games are hosted from. And, just how many hits would they need to receive to be considered "famous".
It's also hard to understand what you mean by outside the community. Does a game need to be hosted elsewhere in order to count? Or do people that download from this site but never post here count as being outside the community?

Ignoring the debate around the word "famous", the canonical answer is Ends of the Earth 2. It's been available from download sites forever, and apparently brought a lot of people here.

Missing is also notable.

There was one salad that got on indiesalads.com, called the Megaman Sprite Game. I can't link to it right now because everything is a salad and it breaks the link.

It was sort of terrible and I sort of hated it but, uh, maybe that counts?

Beyond that, I'm not so sure. It's a shame too because there are so many good ones

EDIT: here's the link: http://indiegames.com/2012/11/freeware_game_pick_the_megaman.html

Is it changing "game" to "salad" for you in every sub-forum? Or just this one and the reviews subforum?

Is this happening to anybody else? Or is TheCube the only one who can't say game.

I can say game game game game, but that might just be because I am a mod?

It was changing everything from game to salad...but now it's fixed. Weird.

The Not Kirby Lands review is still full of leafy goodness on my end.

As I mentioned in the review thread, the filter was runtime, whereas you can edit/quote the posts in question to see that the word "salad" has been typed into the post. I doubt one of our mods would do this, but I've removed JSH and Fenrir from moderation anyway, since they don't visit often enough to moderate effectively.
