Cool Guy Bob Surlaw Soundtrack

BANG! I figured I would post this here for anyone who cares (Pepsi.) This is the soundtrack for Cool Guy Bob Surlaw, so far. Glock and I had a ton of fun making this soundtrack and I think it showcases some of our best work yet. I think it just fits so well with Bob and his latest olfactory adventure.

Also in this set, you can find some more of our random tracks. I've talked about some of them before, but the two NEW ones are Clamshell Calamity and Sneakers On Powerlines.

Hope you all dig the new stuff, and as always, thanks for listening.

I really feel like my game wouldn't be nearly as fun without this soundtrack, so huge thanks to my bro here.

Man how I wish I could get a few more '80s tracks out of you for my game, especially now that I've got a new version coming out quite soon. These are great. Each track you put out gets richer and richer with layers.

Yeah, I've been looking forward to playing Cool Guy Bob Surlaw, but I admit that the soundtrack is half the reason for that -- that and Bob's new big nose needs explanation.

Yeah. Sorry, man. I made those tracks for you so long ago. I just can't bring myself to go back and revisit them. Not to sound pompous, but it's kind of like The Beatles going back to Please Please Me after recording Abbey Road. (So much for not sounding pompous, right?) Everything about our sound has advanced; our mastering techniques, our recording skills, even our musicianship. (I'm not even sure if I still own any of the instruments I used on those songs anymore!) There would be a hugely noticeable difference in the quality of the older tracks compared to the newer ones. This would drive me nuts and be totally unacceptable. The only way to rectify this would be to record a whole NEW soundtrack, and I just can't commit to that right now.

But you have like twelve tracks to work with as it is. With proper placement, those should more than suffice. Unless you've greatly expanded the scope of your game.

So... sorry, man. Maybe in the future I'll be able to commit and give you a whole new soundtrack. Or make another one for one of your future projects.

Ah, now that makes sense to me. Yep, I completely understand where you're coming from with that. I have been recycling the current tracks, and doing so with relative ease. The only point where it's gonna hurt is when I build the nightlife section of the game, which I don't feel any of the current tracks will fit well enough to support.

Maybe I can find someone who can mimic your old style for those parts of the game.

(I don't think a redo of the score would work until I redo the graphics to 16-bit, and I have no plans for that anytime soon, so don't worry about getting that request too near in the future.)

I'd still like to work with you again on another project sometime. I'm still gonna need a score for Monster Out of Six, whenever I get back to work on it, and possibly one or two of my short games that I haven't made progress on in ten years. But who knows when I'll be ready for any of that?

Maybe by then you'll have gotten better again.
