I was recently doing some battle scripting when I came to the realization that I don't think I can do death animations for sprites you've called outside battle. Does anyone else think this would be a useful tool when animating cut scenes, etc.?
Does anyone know if there anyway to make a sprite use one of the default enemy death animations OUTSIDE battle? I'd think it would be pretty simple to implement with plotscripting.
As for the actual command in HS, i'd think something like this would work:
animatedeath slice (handle, animation number, ticks)
OR
animatedeath hero sprite (handle, animation number, ticks)
/
animatedeath small enemy sprite (handle, animation number, ticks)
/
etc.
Animation Number-
0 global default
1 random scatter
2 crossfade
3 diagonal vanish
4 sink into ground
5 squash
6 melt
7 vapourise
8 phase out
9 squeeze
10 shrink
11 flicker

This is certainly possible.
The command would be the same for all sprite types, there would be no advantage to having different commands for different sprite types.
We would also need commands like wait for sprite dissolve and sprite is dissolving and sprite has already dissolved
P.S: Hawaii was great ;)

Actually, if you read my post more carefully you'll find that I didn't request anything. Firstly, I brought up the question 'cause I wasn't sure if there was already a way to do this that I didn't know about. Secondly, I set up a poll cause I wanted to know if anyone else was curious about the idea.
That being said (since it wasn't a request so much as an inquiry), I feel that having the HotOHR going on is a poor reason to boo my question, let alone for anyone to vote it down (that's an option better saved for those who would never think to use such a feature in their games).

Simmer down.
I wasn't booing your question, I was booing TMC's and Bob's interest.
And I voted it down, not because of the HotOHR but because I see little need for it. Sure, it would be a neat little gadget to have available, but not as neat as the dozens and dozens of other things people ask for in the OHR.
Sorry to have to play devil's advocate, but someone has to.
