Maybe dummefaust should be special-cased so that it can never leave the victim with less than 1 hp.
That way it will still have *almost* the same impact in a team battle, but it will no longer be a reward-denier for close 1-on-1 battles.
I think it would also make it less frustrating when Slimebot Omega dummefausts you.
This is a good idea except for the OMEGA bit.
I'll do some thinking about it. It's definitely a game-breaker in low-point formats (like that battle), but it's almost a non-issue at higher levels.
In any case, the arena is overdue for some extra content. My attention has been showered on Phantom Tactics for the last couple of months, but my gaze turns to the arena on occasion... and there are ideas in the works. Nothing as major as the last update, but some new goodies to mix things up a bit.
(edit) Actually, here's a thought regarding Dummefaust: what if its damage were capped at twice your HP? Or something along those lines. This sounded better before I started typing it.

It looks like it gives you a flat 8 hp per turn, so it is only good in low HP battles. In high-HP battles it isn't worth it.
Hm. I'm going to keep smashing against Sir Goowain until I get his Knight Helm, then. Though that's got a similar problem (higher point values make a lot of equipment kind of sucky, except maybe....the vengeance sword and the angel bracers, I guess)
