Yo peoples. Check out this game I did the soundtrack for. It's called:

Carny Death Peddlers

It's a bad-ass (stupid filter) beat 'em up with a Halloweenish theme. Here's a screenshot:

Looks pretty good, right? Right. Check it out and have a happy, safe Halloween. Watch out for those razor blades!

Just sharing some news about this game. It's getting some pretty good press out there. It is a Freeware Game Pick on IndieGames.com and it has just been featured on Game Jolt.

So yeah. You should go ahead and check it out already.

And you can check out the soundtrack here. I recommend listening to the Stage 2 track. It's the JAM.

A comment about the music page in general:

Call me a sucker, but I think the tracks on the Miscellaneous page are great (and my favorites). Are "Procrastination" or "Concourse" for any particular project on the way? I do like the ones for the Carny game, but the ones on the Miscellaneous page have piqued my interest.

Concourse is actually a Carny Death Peddlers b-side. It was the first track we made for the game. Our initial thought for the soundtrack was to make it a Thriller-esqu cheesefest of synth brass and disco beats. But as work on the game progressed, the music sort of shifted tone and this track simply didn't fit anymore. So we had to cut it. It hurt, but I think it was the right choice in the end.

Procrastination is exactly what its name implies; us putting off doing real work in lieu of something silly and fun. Glock and I are both HUGE Ventures fans (we were actually in a surf band back in middle school together.) One of the developers on CDP suggested that we do the title track in a 60s surf style. I guess the bug bit us because as soon as we finished that track, we immediately wanted to make another (and another, coming soon.)

Anyway... thanks for listening, man! If you want to follow our musical crap, you can follow our blog here, or just keep an eye on our Soundcloud. I only post game-related music here on SS, but we have a bunch of other stuff coming out soon.

EDIT: Oh yeah. The Cool Guy Bob Surlaw track is for the next Surlaw game. This is our best soundtrack yet- hands down. Maybe I will slowly leak some more tracks...

Yeah, I commented on that one in another thread. Really dig that one, especially the part where that dark riff comes in at :57. I definitely want to hear more from that game.

Are you only posting the songs you did with Glock?

Yeah. I mean, I might eventually make my own Soundcloud for all of my previous, solo stuff, but right now I'm just focusing on our collective work. I just think it's so much stronger than my solo stuff. Not that I still don't have a soft spot in my heart for it, but I just kind of feel that a lot of it was me learning to walk. I'm not sure if it is anything I really want to actively promote at this point, you know?

I love the Ventures. Surf music is pretty awesome. I pretty much love all that instrumental rock from that era: The Shadows, The Tornadoes, etc. Maybe some day in the far future I can talk you into writing a surf soundtrack for some game of mine. That would be blast.
