I heard it was really good on the iPad. I might have to pick it up on that; I love me some pinball.
The iPad version's supposed to be really good, especially since it's taller than wide so you don't have the aspect weirdness of playing it on a TV. You also get the most tables and can actually see them totally clearly unlike phone versions.

As usual I'm behind the times.
It wasn't that fun at all. I got it for Christmas one year, thought I would love it because I loved the movie, and was thoroughly disappointed by it. It pretends to be an adventure, but it's more like that action game that lets you go anywhere, but you can't really do anything other than pick up three or four scattered objects that you have to search the town for or outrun those weasels that are constantly chasing you. Even the "attack" feature was bad. You could issue a wind-up punch, where you hold down the button until Eddie is charged, and then release. But there's no one in the game worth hitting, except for Judge Dredd/Doom/Whatever (I forgot), aka the final boss, or those weasels should they get too close. It was just bad. And never mind the ending. You'd think that such a bad game with such a difficult boss (did I mention it took me a bunch of complete restarts and hours of boring replay just to figure out how to finish off the boss?) would put all of its effort into the ending. Nope. Just another stupid congratulations message, similar to the one that you get for clearing 128 stages of Rampage. I felt bad for the relative who bought it for me.
Anyway, I'm not chiming in to hate on a 25-year-old NES game. I was wondering if you've played or even heard of a game called Rochard? I bought it on Steam a year-and-a-half ago and thought it was pretty great. You might want to give that one a run if you're looking for a good sleeper. Waking Mars is pretty good, too, although it gets repetitive after a while.

Roger Rabbit made no sense, but it was sort of interesting. It was funny that Ed Valiant could get killed by a walking pair of shoes. Some of the item uses were really bizarre, but it's sometimes fun in a Maniac Mansion kind of way, I guess...?

Just admit it Pepsi, you hate rabbits!!!
Yeah, can't really argue with you. The action aspect of that game was pretty awful, although it's funny that you can punch random people and toons for no reason.
SPOILERS FOR SUPERMAN AHEAD
I also just read Surlaw's 'quick words' on the new Superman. I agree with him mostly, but one thing that's really starting to piss me off about a lot of newer action movies is when the writers feel the necessity to give every minor character 'something to do' during the 'big final battle'. I GUESS it sort of worked for the Avengers movie. But in the last Batman movie I definitely could have done without Robin trying to walk the bridge in an ultimately pointless gesture. I don't think this was necessary for him to leave the police at the end. And in this Superman movie, this principal is taken to some awful, Transformers-level extremes. Did we really need Lois' boss saving that girl? Did she even have a name? And the scientist guy, who needs to straighten the capsule so that the S-stick thing will go in all the way? Why bother? Dumbest fake tension ever. (okay, probably not "ever")
Also, Lois was awesome in this movie and deserves all the praise that anyone is willing to give her. But how the hell did she get to Grand Central (or whatever the train station was) so fast? How did she even know where they ended up? I'll complain less about this one though, because any scene with her was usually better for it.
And of course, the big question that my friend brought up - why the hell didn't someone say, "hey boss, if Cal wants to save those weird human things, why don't we just fix up some other planet? I'll bet he'd be willing to give up some of his cells for that."
EDIT: put the ending spoiler tag on. Sorry guys

I've got so much to write about Superman but I'm way, way behind on everything, in part because I'm working on a new game that will hopefully be done and up late next week.

We mentioned Simon's Quest on this thread a little while ago. I beat it (again? I can't remember if I ever beat it before) yesterday on emulator. I didn't use any guides, but I DID use the vague map of Transylvania (I found it online, but remember it from Nintendo Power maybe?). I also remembered the vague idea that 'kneeling' in places with an orb picked can make 'stuff' happen.
Honestly, the game isn't as bad as I remembered it. I didn't find everything, but I had fun for most of the game. However, apparently I got incredibly lucky with the ferryman; a villager says he likes garlic, but apparently he wants you to have Dracula's heart selected. I also never figured out what the eyeball or the nail did. But I thought the Holy Water was a great way to make the fake floors fair for the careful player.
