Refresh your browser bro, that got fixed. Yeah, the soundtrack that came with it is great and the presentation of the whole package is just really good all around. I wish they'd put this much care into their Mario collection.

I just erased an "l" was all.

And you're not the first person I've encountered that's compared the kirby collection to mario.

From what I saw (well, HAVE), the mario 25th collection has a really awesomely done up box, and it has two cases, one with a brief look at most of the main mario games with a comment from each of the developers on it, and some art. Also, a disk containing one soundtrack from each of the main mario games, followed by a series of sound effects, which, admittedly, make it a little hard to listen to on autoplay (actually having woken me multiple times from sudden "DING!" coin sounds after mario galaxy stuff stops in the middle of the night). And the game disk itself is a literal snes rom of mario all-stars for the super NES. And I'm not sure if it's just me, but I have experienced it on multiple wiis, there seems to be an ever so slight delay in controls. And it's just enough to screw with my timing. I am not really pleased in that aspect, but it's cool playing it.
For the 20th kirby collection, the box is a little podunk in comparison, but inside is a book with a detailed look at ALL the kirby games, including remakes and spin-offs, and it has all sorts of trivia, art, and even small little in-book activities (mostly trivia, but some are "look for this" in it). And not only just that stuff, but even little clips of all the instruction booklets showing off bits of how they were looking and their aim on design, and even some magazine covers featuring kirby games! (R.I.P. Nintendo Power...). And in the lone case (whose art actually has a bit of history to it, if you read the book) contains a musical disk containing at LEAST two tracks from all the main kirby games, a few spin-offs, and even remakes. Not to mention 3 all new tracks added, such as a live symphony version of gormet race to green greens! And the game contained within itself has not only 6 kirby games packaged almost flawlessly (gamecube controls for super star and Dreamland 3 are kinda wonky, you have to use a GC controller to see), and even New Challenge Stages using the Kirby's Return to Dreamland engine and featuring a familiar figure for a host, having 3 all new worlds to play, and even the return of, to me, a really sweet power. And if THAT is not enough for you, there's a "museum" of all the years from Kirby's Dreamland to when the Dream Collection was released that each have about 3 random facts about events that occurred in those years, and it has even further details on every kirby game known to man, along with video demonstrations of each and every game so you can see what they were like, no speculation required! AND! EVEN THOUGH I HATE THE 4KIDS VERSION OF IT, IT DOES. INDEED. Have 3 episodes of the kirby anime. Yep. 3 full episodes for one's viewing pleasure, even including the pilot episode. This, truly, is the "dream" collection.

Have I ever mentioned how so worth it this game is? If I had to have one game, it would be this. And I have it.

Not to mention, Kirby is a big inspiration to me to begin with, and playing these games actually helped build confidence in myself. And I have a (now outdated, DARN YOU RTDL! Kamina ) Fighter Kirby rear-view-mirror thinger dangling in my car. *Ahem* That is all.

edit: almost forgot to mention, though 4kids need not any explanation (hopefully), there are a good amount more reasons why I prefer the original version of the anime to the 4kids version. One reason being that over half of them have been subbed, back when 4kids was still actively raping the show, by fans, and through said transcribed lettering I have learned a tad bit o' japanese. This is far more than I can say for an entire year of spanish class in 9th grade, especially as I watched all these episodes in about a week or so.

This guy is serious about his Kirby.

I want the collection, but have no wii. My wife also pointed out we own the originals for all the games except the SNES Kirby's Dreamland (which is pricy), so it seems kind of silly to get. But I still want it.

Kirby 64 is an interesting game. It was a bit to "Yoshi's Story" for my taste, but unlike Yoshi's Story the game at least looked decent. Man, why is Yoshi's Story so bad?

Just play Metaknight's Revenge and you're set. Also, Epic Yarn has a stupid name but it still great.
Luigi is almost as sexy as me!

Yoshi's Story was "meh" because it lacks a lot. You essentially just roam a level at your leisure, with your goal only being to gorge yourself on as much fruit as possible. Sure, you can go for points, but what's the point? There's only 24 or 28 levels (I forget), which is pretty darn miniscule, especially for a main console mario-type game (though this is more of a deranged spin-off of Yoshi's Island, an excellent spin-off of Mario World). Each world is hideously easy, not to mention one of the bosses you can encounter (of the whole 5 in the game, I think) is defeated by EATING it. Yeah. Not to mention the bosses pretty much scream their weak point at you. And if that's not enough, there's not an enormous amount of variation in level styles, art-wise.

The game plays sorta like a cheap yoshi's island, but it's alright. Truthfully, I like the game to a degree, but it's pointlessness in every level makes me feel like there's not much a point in playing it other than "for the heck of it". This makes me glad I got it for 10 or 15 bucks in more modern times than the 30-40 I would have had to pay back when it was new, but even then I feel this game is worth only 5 - 8 bucks. But that's just me. I think if the game was polished, had some real variation to it, and more of a goal than "eat when you feel like quitting the level", then it would be better. (one more note, there IS another goal than eating, you can collect hearts to bring up the amount of stages you're allowed to choose from. Once you've played every one once, there's no longer a point in collecting them unless you're going for a high score)

And as for the SNES dreamland, dreamland 3, that's personally the only kirby game I'm not a fan of, mostly because of it's poor game design choices. I could go on about that, if you want. It's not a TERRIBLE game, but it's not fantastic. But I do like player 2, gooey. It licks up enemies with it's tongue rather than inhaling like kirby does. And kirby can eat it to get 2 bit of health, which can be a tad game breaking since you can summon p2 even at 1 health. it costs 2 health to summon him otherwise.

I paid like $65 for Yoshi's Story when it was new and brought it back the next day and asked for my money back.

Have you done Metroid Fusion as a review yet? Can I make a request of it if you haven't? Just to wrap up the 2-D main Metroids (well, I guess Zero Mission would be needed for a true completion).

I definitely will review both Zero Mission and Fusion, I just want to take time to replay them first. I should get to that pretty soon.

What the hell??? I bought this Dragon Dogma game because Surlaw reviewed it, but the cartridge looked more like a disc and no matter how I arranged it in there, my NES refused to play it!!! I even blew on it and everything!

I blame this on Surlaw. Why would HE review something that can't be played by ME??? Does he enjoy making Americans waste their hard-earned money?

(PS: I still love these reviews, bud. Never change.)
