I was just over checking the CP forums and there are A LOT of spambots over there. Are we good over here or are we a later target?

"SPAM Wave" sounds like a high-tier spell for James in Wandering Hamster!
In general, spambots aren't as much of a problem here, maybe because we just get a lot less traffic than other websites. I've never seen more than two or three spam threads running at once - they're so rare, we usually give them some of our time and read what garbled nonsense they post for amusement.

I don't remember what kind of CAPTCHA CP uses. The one at Slime Salad is custom-made, and while the occasional bot slips through, it's very rare and quickly addressed. CP also has some forums that can be used anonymously, which is a bad idea unless you're willing to be very diligent about removing the spam.
In other words: don't worry about SS. We are OK for the foreseeable future.

There was a really interesting spam posted on cp about a week ago, before the flood started. I looked for it just now, but I think it was already removed.
It was an advertisement for a forum spamming service. It bragged at length about the different types of captcha it was able to break, saying that distorted text, and all question captchas were easily defeated.
It was rather shockingly brazen. It was like somebody breaking into a house and leaving behind a note advertising a burglary for hire service. (Like how we burgled you? Want to see more? Here is our business card!)
