Hey,
I'd like to tell you about a free mmorpg called Illarion.
I didn't make this game myself, but I wrote a few NPCs for the game.
The developers asked around to look out for helping hands, so I tough of you. Grin

What is Illarion?
Illarion is an open source mmorpg.

What is this all about?
Illarion (http://www.illarion.org) is a free, graphical roleplaying game that focuses on true roleplaying.
It is has been a free alternative to games like Ultima Online, Tibia or Runescape for almost ten years now.
These days, the staff works hard on an update ('Very Big Update') to the game that will change all aspects of the game further improving the quality in order to satisfy the demands of players from all around the world. For this task, a helping hand is needed.
If you are interested in joining an existing project and have own ideas for a fantasy roleplaying game, we invite you to join the development team of Illarion. Screenshots of the game and further information can be found at http://www.illarion.org.

How can You help?
You can support the development of Illarion in many ways. Everyone who grasps the basics of programming is able to contribute to it. Interest in fantasy roleplaying is preferable, team work is essential.

In short, Illarion consists of the following elements:
- Server (C++)
- Client (Java)
- Server scripts (lua)

These are not the only opportunities to work to improve the game content!
- Homepage
- Graphics ( 2D graphics, derived from 3D models.http://illarion.org/community/wiki/index.php/File:Screenshot1.png )
- Sounds and music (For example: Sound effects in .wav format)
- Authors of game content (books, NPCs, Stories, Quest ect.)

- Create an NPC for the game world!
Illarion offers a custom, very simple NPC scripting language and tools to generate books and other quest elements. These tools require absolutely no programming experience and are fun to use.

Illarion has a dense and friendly community of roleplayers that will defiantly reward you with gratitude.

Then I said iIwanted to help, the staff was very friendly and helpfull, I had no idea of how to write NPC's Dialogue but they patiently explaint me how to use the easyNPCEditor for making scripts and quest.
I like it very much, that one really can take influence on Illarion's developemet not only by playing but also by crearting things, who the players can meet while playing. It is fun!

If you have questions please feel free to ask.
If you have an idea how to improve this 'We-look-for-developers'-Text please tell me as well. Smile
