D&D Play by Post

Greetings brave warriors, wise magi, and cunning thieves! Do you have what it takes to go forth and risk your neck in epic adventure? If so, then join up now!

*cough*

But seriously, this is a recruitment drive of sorts. Basically, we'd like to know if there's anyone else interested in joining an on-going play-by-post D&D game run by yours truly? The game is big on role-playing, though there is the occasional ridiculously difficult odds battle. It's set in my own personal D&D world that I use for my live campaigns.

If you're interested, you'll be starting at level 3, and we'll be using the d20 SRD. I am, however, a great believer of "story trumps rules" so if you can justify, story-wise, some unorthodox character or class, I might consider it.

Currently, the party is camped outside of a temple that they are about to enter and (hopefully) find a missing paladin. We currently have a paladin, a druid, a fighter, a sorcerer, and a ranger. Unfortunately, our ranger may be leaving the game.

So, any takers?

(I am also not averse to new players being part of a new party sent to hunt down the old party... *cough*)

I might be interested in being a Monk or Cleric. You probably need a Cleric more, but I've always wanted to play the class that can't hit anything

Edit: Is a monk of a vow of poverty (has to give all his items to the poor, but gains various bonuses at he levels) acceptable? I'm thinking of taking a Vow of Poverty and a Vow of Peace (no killing). This adds up to some crazy AC bonuses (+11 at level 3) , but I can't use items in a party with no cleric, can't kill monsters, and am a monk, a really weak class generally.

The monk might be a bit overpowered, but I wouldn't say no to a cleric.

All the vows are overpowered. Even more so in a campaign where the DM doesn't hand out magic items.

It's not like monks are exactly high-op to begin with, though.

Come on guys, it's pretty much like "The Box" or Improv Story, only with DICE ROLLS. It's all the fun of modular story telling, only with something for the compulsive gambler.

Er... I doubt that the world has any circus trolls :P Though if you want to play a monstrous humanoid, I'd be ok with something that has up to +3 level adjustment, though that may be pushing it.
