Well, as soon as my music man, Golbez, finishes making this one last track loop correctly, the game should be ready for final testing phase! I'll need testers still, so feel free to sign up! We have until the 30th to get things done, but I'd like everything submitted by you crazies by the 29th.

I'll probably ready the file for send off tomorrow, so testers already testing: you know what to do.
People who want to become testers: fire away a PM or reply here. -Meowskivich

REMINDER TO ALL TESTERS!
Tomorrow (the 27th) is the final day to submit your testing results to me, as I shall work out any last minute kinks that'll prevent happy-having with the game and release the version 1.3beta on the 28th.

Putting on finishing touches; as soon as classes are over for me today, I shall be uploading the game!
Aside from bug fixes done (and found by my most awesome of testers, aka, the only ones who've got back to me), I am working on making a generic type of sound effect for energy skills, I'm going to try it out myself to see whether I like it or not, but I think I may up the volume on the effect (it's a tad quiet and sounds like it's on the same level of background noise).
I also added in a few things, one is a checklist of stuff that you can generally do at the end of the "game" (demo, as some may call it), and the other is a sign saying "don't buy the bestiary stuff yet, it's not finished" so that the unsuspecting won't feel like they blew some good money on it.

But yes, the game shall finally be out today, and there will be much rejoicing. 2 years of set back and all that, and I've finally got this new version pretty much ready. Can't wait to get this out so I can get started on the next version (though I may add the bestiary in if I have time before the contest ends, as I did want that in, but time and all that jazz)

All Macs have built-in unzipping software, so no need to worry about that :)

groovy. I'll then package up a mac app thing and then send it off in a zip with the txts docs I want added.

Also, does linux have an unzipper too? cuz I could make a zip file with that one's whatever too. Thank groodness for the export section added to alectormancy.

Yup, we've got an unzipper. Though .tar seems to be more popular in some cases. Still, .zip is just fine for Linux.

Also, .zip is pretty universal, pretty much every major platform can deal with it, so no worries there pretty much.

Just a note, that's not a Linux version, per se, but rather one for Debian/Ubuntu Linux distros. As for the Mac version, I wouldn't know, as I don't have a Mac.

I think you might be better off just packaging it as a ZIP, and then having instructions as to how to play in a readme.

Just my two cents.

Yeah, for the Debian Linux version, I think it is better to just upload the plain .deb file. However, they way you did it works okay, so I suppose it is fine :)

EDIT: the same is even more true of the Mac version. You should just upload the plain .tar.gz file, and you should put all your README information in the Distribute Game screen, rather than typing it in separate files.

(I would like to add a more generic Linux package to the Distribute Game screen, but I haven't decided the best way to do it.)
