Yeah, well I'm still relatively new here and haven't really been lurking all that long, so I was wondering if there's any protocol or format or whatever for writing reviews for games? I didn't notice a sticky or anything about community standards or customs (if any) regarding the writing of reviews. So the question is, I suppose, is there any special protocol for doing such? Cheers!

Well, there is and there isn't.
Basically as long as your review is fairly lengthy (About 3-4 paragraphs with 3-4 lines in each paragraph at least) and your review offers helpful insist into the game it should be fine.
At the same time people have done other types of reviews and people have accepted them as well. There are some video reviews which feature only a youtube video.
Basically just try to make it acceptable looking. And don't outright flame people I guess.

This posting is nearly a decade old, but it's still quite relevant. It exceeds the need for Slime Salad's reviews, but I still think it offers great overall advice.

I think the most important thing is to make sure that it has been proof read by you and a few other people. I've fell into the trap of poor grammar in the past...
By the way. Has anyone here noticed an improvement in my grammar since that review? I've been trying to get it back to a point where it makes sense...
(Outside of java I haven't used a semi-colon in months!)

Ho-ly crap I posted on that thread almost 10 years ago.
I feel old.
Luigi is almost as sexy as me!
I remember first trying the OHRRPGCE back in my freshman year of high school I think. And now I'm still playing around with it while taking up postgraduate studies...
Crikey, I feel old too...

My torrid love affair with the OHR extends about fifteen years.
