i feel like the palette change makes things too busy, which detracts from that lonely dark feeling the original palette had. i especially don't like how the body on the sidewalk sorta blends right into the sidewalk. ultimately you should keep the concrete dark, and maybe lighten the objects on top - such as the street lamps.

Glad to hear it! I'm about 25% through revising/trimming the original dialogue. I think I'll work on enemy redesigns next.

Status update:

About 33% of the dialogue has been revised. I also have decided to expand on the story, change/add a new ending, and give diary entries to all the main characters.

I'm also considering adding a New Game + Mode, but since doing it on the OHR would be difficult, I was thinking you get a password that lets you play this mode and it gives you extra items. Would having to play New Game + to get the best ending be a bad idea? What about adding extra content/story?

We also got a few new songs in. Yay!

Having to play New Game+ to get the best ending would be annoying unless new content was added throughout the game that fundamentally changed the player's understanding of the story (See: Nier)

Well, wow, just read about Nier, and yes, that is indeed the way to do a New Game + feature. Though something that complex might be a bit hard, or at least very complicated, to implement in the OHRRPGCE.

It wouldn't be that bad, it would just be a matter of using and tracking tags smartly. Very time consuming, but not particularly complicated.

And yeah everyone should play Nier, it's one of the best games of this generation.

I don't know if I want to go into time-consuming territory that much yet, but I'll keep it in mind. I was thinking though, that the best ending you get prior to New Game + would give you an ending that is very one-sided/skewed, and then in New Game +, new content, diary entries, etc. would now be available. I don't know if restricting a lot of new content to that would be a good idea or not though.

How about playing the game through from the point of view of another character in New Game +? Would be interesting, for example, to see the game from the point of view of the side kick or something.

I just discovered recently one of my character's last names (Pinyin) is the system for Romanization of Chinese. I don't even remember how I came across Pinyin without realizing this, but this was over 3 years ago. Would it be weird if I changed the last name to something more appropriate, or should I keep it the same and work with it?

I don't see what's so strange about that. It makes no difference to me what you do with that name, because I don't remember seeing it once throughout my play-through of Bloodlust. Depending on the context it appears in, it may be that I'll never notice it at all.

Well, it turns out that in Final Fantasy 7, Cloud's name actually means, "A big white fluffy thing in the sky that causes rain" hehehe

But in all seriousness, I don't see a problem if his/her name or last name means something else. Unless the name is meant to affect something in your story, or in your game, there's no reason to change it to anything else. Besides, how many people would actually know that the name is, "the system for the Romanization of Chinese" outside of linguists? I'll second Meowskivich with an emphatic, "Keep it I say!" as well.
