If I were ever to return back to Pokemon Beige, I would need a lot of help with it. Mainly, the artwork. The artwork is the most major thing. I cannot, for the life of me, do what Fnnrf did with his Puckamon. He could manage to translate his massive Puckamon into hero sized sprites. I'm terrible at that. I only have a few houses done because I translated each maptile pixel by pixel the best I could into the OHR's offshape map grid. It was time consuming, but looked amazing afterwards. If anybody is curious to see the progress, drop me a PM and i'll send you the game file.

Since we are no longer limited on the amount of maps we can make in OHR anymore, having one indoor per map makes a lot more sense. If your game enables save anywhere, or if one of these indoors has a save point, you would want the save file to say the right name.
If all your indoors for a single town are on a single map, when you save at an Inn, your save file will say something stupid like "Simpleton Interior", rather than "The Super Simpleton Motel". Also using a single map per indoor, you can use the map name to show the player the name of the building, which s/he can reference later in your game's plot. This prevents the player from getting too lost in a game's world. Not knowing where "Kelly's House" is for example, and trying every single house with a female NPC inside can be a headache, especially when all these females blabber something the player really doesn't need to know. It's even more confusing for the player if Kelly ends up being an unfortunately named male NPC. I've seen Kelly used as a male name in real life. Imagine giving the player a quest to find someone named "Pat" for example.
At this point in the engines life-cycle, I say use a separate map for each interior, it leads to less bugs, and if you need to ever increase the size of a house, it's less work. You can also make better use of "Map name" in the game itself. That's by couple cents.
