Two chapters done so far.

This game is amazing. If you like RPGs, you owe it to yourself to play it. In particular, the soundtrack is amazing. One of the scenes in Chapter One (you'll know which) is the most emotional scene I've ever watched in a video game.

I wasn't much of a fan of Earthbound for the SNES at all (or RPGs in general), but Mother 3 is actually pretty addictive. I told myself I wouldn't play it until I got a game project complete, but then I did play it and DAMN where did the time go?! Just starting Chapter 2 now.

What is everyone's highest combo in battle? I've managed to get a 12 hit combo a few times on that rock lizard creature.

I can't get more than 4 hits ever. Probably the emulator's or my PC's fault

Managed to get 16 hits on the Barrel Man! Apparently this is the max combo you can get. It was an easier enemy to combo though.

Yeah, the emulator/CPU combination is making it rough for me to get combos. Just finished chapter 1 last night and I'm loving the hell out of it, though.

What sort of emulator are you guys using? I'm using VisualBoyAdvance. I don't know which version, but I haven't updated it in years, and my CPU is a Pentium M with Windows XP. The game runs smoothly.

VBA-M on Vista. Sure, my hardware's good, but between leaving it on all the time so Firefox eats resources and Vista's regular eating of resources, it runs slow sometimes.
However, it's interesting to note that I only really experience lag in battles.

Except that's Chapter 4.

I just finished it, coincidentally. Good times, good times. The last boss fight in Ch. 4 is pretty tough!

Still loving everything about this game, and Hawk says it keeps getting better and better.

I know most of you have already beaten the game by now, but I have to revive this topic.

This is all true, especially regarding that scene in Chapter One. (Incidentally, I hear you can get Mother 3i and Mother 3+ on iTunes. I'm going to check it out and buy one/both when I get home because I have one of the battle themes going through my head.)

BTW, 16-hit combo on Mr. Passion.

I MAY OR MAY NOT have the entire soundtrack in Mp3 format (game rips). There's NO CHANCE I CAN OR CANNOT hook a brother up.

(Finished the game last week. It's my second-favorite game ever after Earthbound, if that means anything, and I could probably bump it up a number if it holds up well on replay. Make sure to try walking around on the The End screen)

You can easily record the soundtrack yourself on VisualboyAdvance (though I admit, recording over 200 songs would be a extremely tedious task). Does this soundtrack you have sound any different from the game music itself, because I already recording my favorite songs into mp3s.

Um, they MIGHT BE game rips that I DID NOT FIND on the WORLD WIDE INTERNET.

(Yes, they sound like the music in the game)
