Urbanica RPG (wip)

Hi everybody.

So i have decided that i have nothing better to do and started a project using OHRRPGCE. So far i'm at planing stage but i have already did few tests of the engine and made a first tileset that i think i'll actually use in the game.

If you would be so kind and let me know what you think of it, i'll be very grateful



As you can see, the graphics are homage to classic gameboy games and all of the game will be done using this palette.

You REALLY need to rename your game.

Oh man, you are killing me... Do you know how much i hate to think of some names? That's why i have nameless heroes and cities in most of my stories ^_^
Anyway, let's say it's working title, will think of something else later on.

Well it will take place mainly in and bellow the city, so word urban or something like that should be there (i like the word, ok? ^_^). Some magic will be there as well, so Urban Fantasy was kind of perfect title imo ^_^
Anyway, it's not top priority atm, have lots of other things to do.

As i have said before, the story isn't yet finished, working on intro sequence and so on. Hopefully i'll have something more to show soon ^_^

How about...

* Urban Dream?
* 8-Bit Dream?
* 8-Bit Fantasy?
* Urbania?
* Midsummer's Night Dream?

That last one is a dry joke, but still...

Urbania sounds rather nice actually, thanks a lot ^_^

Urban Fantasy.

It's the perfect name. Don't let them talk you out of it!! Urbania sounds like tazmania or castlevania. Just cause some eggman used the name doesn't mean you can't make it your own.

I remember James Paige once suggested that you should Google any game name you are considering using to make sure that it isn't used for anything else.

This is an especially good idea since it forces you to come up with a good original name. They say you should never judge a book by its cover, but an interesting attention-grabbing name is key.

When I'm looking for games to retro-review for Hamsterspeak, I'll sift through hundreds of OHR games on Castle Paradox, weeding out many solely based on their name.

I did say this :)

In fact, when reading this thread, I couldn't resist googling Urbania, and I discovered that it is a Israeli film from 2000, a town in Italy, and a collection of urban-themed Sims 2 expansions.

But it is not yet an RPG :)

love the screenshot. looks just like my apartment here in osaka. one room, one bed, a tv, and a small-@$$ kitchen that's in the same room. lol. love the style though. like the concept of doing something more modern.

for some reason, in any urban rpg, i tend to think ZOMBIES... i blame mass media and movies on this one.
