Dating Sim?

So I've been piecing together an idea for a dating game. Has anyone attempted to make a game like this, or have any suggestions?

Is it even possible to try to make one with OHR?

make it so that you eventually get laid. if i wanted to go on a date with a girl and not get any action, i'd take my girlfriend out to for dinner and a movie.

seriously though, at least make it interesting. not just talking to girls and making them like you. try this:

it's the zombie apocalypse. you are trapped in a house with four other people. the cheerleading captain who never liked you, the creepy goth girl who always talked about how awesome it would be if the jocky football team jerks was eaten by the evil army of the undead (who are trying to claw their way in through the front door, ironically), the nerdy girl that everyone picked on, and the girl you've lived next to for your whole life. or something like that. now expand.

and yes, it's possible. just gonna take a lot of drawing and menus.

What's your idea? Tell us the pieces. All ears.

I may have made a few games like this. Maybe. Suggestions:

- Mouse enabled, so you can play with one hand
- use a nightly so you can use transparent backdrops for full character pictures behind text boxes instead of those tiny text box portraits
- Play every game by Mogri, to understand the necessity of giving your game a soul and strong characters
- Don't worry about making your characters deep, but diverse and 1-dimensional, then expand on each character's single dimension. Ie, this pony is a book nerd, this pony likes to buck apples, etc

And probably the most important of all:

Write the plot based on exciting scenarios for someone to play through. No matter how mix-matched or crazy they may seem, you can piece them together. The more wild, the more interesting.

Make it totally subversive. In our super cynical modern age where irony is king, people can't take something like a dating sim seriously. It's your job to make a game that people think is taking itself very seriously, and then screw with their expectations. The more ambiguous your intent, the more interesting this will be.

Or at least that's my 2 cents. I'd play it, in any case.

Make a dating sim set in a society with arranged marriages. The game starts after you marry; you transition through the stages of getting to know your spouse and accepting this new life.
