Well, we all saw how my last one turned out, haha! I think I had too many ideas in my head so I kinda rushed the graphics way too much in order to work solely on battle balance and a decent amount of gameplay. Plus my scripting was too hastily done to tell any parts of the story I would've liked to very well. SO, while I do like the story that I had in mind for "Hero", I figured rather than update everything and go back in and change stuff, it would be better to just scrap it and start on a new one, taking my time. I just wanted to know if anyone would be willing to give me some advice on any graphics (which I will post later if I can figure out how) or anything. Honestly it's frustrating knowing that I've spent so much time (well, probably not that much) and only done some still sub-par graphics. No text, no scripting. Basically no game yet..
Now, I do intend and insist upon using all of my own ideas and content (to whatever extent possible. I guess all ideas are probably at heart "ripped" but whatever) but at the same time I'd definitely appreciate any feedback possible as I continue this project! Any ideas on how much base content you think should be done before the actual gameplay is started? So far, I think all I need really (besides text, which is easy. I like stories!) is maps and more walkabouts, which I absolutely hate doing. Any advice for an aspiring pixel artist to make any of that any easier or whatever? Thanks in advance!
You can't fix stupidity.

Go to http://photobucket.com/ and get an account and save you screen shots as PING. The site user friendly and if we can figure it out anyone can.
I the half of our team that does the landscapes and images and I take copies of what I want to imitate and transfer it to paint bush where I can zoom in with grid and see what the pixals of a cloud, or grass, or stone would look like.
I discovered colors I'd never consider using in things and when I added these colors to my boring images they gained depth (like putting dark purple, brown maroon or soft pink and baby blue around off white dot in a blue black sky to give stars depth. Then creating three similar frame and animating these so the stars twinkle.
That's just one trick. Let me know if that makes sense and if that was what you are looking for.
