I've beaten the Necromancer and made it to the island with all the pirates. I trounced the only pirates that have tried attacking me, but I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do next.

In the town of Portwind, here is what you do...

Walk through the invisable wall right of the priest and talk to NPC Red Rose, she will ask if she can trust you. Go to the tavern at the start of town and talk to the little girl, she will give you GROGBERRY TEA, return to Red Rose and she will open the path to her manor for you

SUPER SECRET SPELLSHARD CLASS SYSTEM INFO!!! Gonk

Don't read this unless you want info about the various class changes to be forever SPOILED:

The classes you pick at the beginning of the game will under three changes throughout the course of the game; once after you beat the Lord of Decay in Midh, again after the Lord of Decay in Lugubra, and then once again near the end of the game. During the Lugubra class change, you'll have the opportunity to choose between two branches, which in turn determine what your final end-game classes will be. Here's how it breaks down:
Code:

                   /--> DRAGOON -> COMMANDO
FIGHTER -> KNIGHT <
                   \--> YOJIMBO -> NEONKNIGHT

                   /--> MAGUS -> COSMOMAGE
WIZARD -> WARLOCK <
                   \--> ASTROLOGER -> ASTROMANCER

                   /--> PRIVATEER -> SPACE PIRATE
THIEF -> NINJA <
                   \--> ASSASSIN -> BLACKOPS

                   /--> EXORCIST -> GHOST DETECTIVE
CLERIC -> SAGE <
                   \--> DOCTOR -> NANOSURGEON

                   /--> DUELIST -> NEOVALKYRIE
RANGER -> RAIDER <
                   \--> GUNNER -> COMBAT SNIPER

                   /--> VIRTUOSO -> POPIDOL
BARD -> DANCER <
                   \--> HARLEQUIN -> MOONSTRIDER

                   /--> WARMAGE -> STARFENCER
SORCERESS -> SPELLSWORD <
                   \--> OCCULTIST -> SPELLPSION

                   /--> OFFICER -> GALAXY COP
PALADIN -> TEMPLAR <
                   \--> EVANGELIST -> HOLY DIVER

When you reach the branch, each path will place an emphasis on one of the aspects of the original class (without being a detriment to the other). For instance, the DRAGOON branch emphasizes Fighter's ability to ATTACK (without lowering his defensive capabilities), while the YOJIMBO branch emphasizes those defensive abilities without lowering his innate capacity for strong attacks.

Anything with spikes instantly kills you if you get remotely near it. While this is more of an engine bug due to the wonky "on touch" NPC activation, those spike traps just move way too fast for most people.

The block pushing puzzle is clever however, is one of the few instances where the game actually gives you a hint on the correct way to do it.

How can I solve the puzzle? (If I can avoid the spikes.)

There's four blocks in the room that must be moved into a particular position to open the gate. Suffice to say, even if you can't figure out the correct order, you can always try it through brute force (by trying every possible combination). That said, there's a BIG hint in the walkway going straight up to them.

Also, don't forget to check every statue you come across.

When you get to the Japan/China area, be on the lookout for Baboons. You can steal Strength Stat upgrades from them. They also give out a pretty nice amount of Gold and EXP.

I understand now Charbile's statement about Smelling Salts making the game more "casual". If you have a theif/ninja, the tournament later on is MUCH easier.

I absolutly love spellshard.
It is arguably the best game in OHR.
We need more of these games around.

This game is nintendo hard. Like, I followed Fenrir's advice. Disrupt+Graveyard Zombies= EXP!!!
This games graphics are perfect. Well, for a game like this. Not too shabby. And the gaming and battle mechanics are Nintendo Hard, but still fair and enjoyable.

Summoner=GHOSTS AND GOBLINS HARD!

His evil wall slows my frame rate, for one thing, which slows everything down for me. Secondly, he summons an Imp, a Djinn, a Blood Ogre, and a FREAKING SUCCUBUS! Third, you have to beat him, then all his summons, then rebeat him ALL IN THE SAME FIGHT. CURSE YOU SHIZUMA AND HARLOCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!

Alright, how in the hell am I supposed to beat the Summoner?
He's kicked my ass at least 5 times by now, and my nerves and blood pressure can't handle anymore.

My team is all level 12, with a fair bit of spells learned. My team is a Ranger, Theif, Cleric and Sorceress.
Everything usually goes downhill on the final stretch of fight, when he removes his wall, and summons imps on hit. Sometimes it goes downhill at the begginning, sometimes in the middle.

Honestly, who made that fight? If so, are you freaking insane?!!?!? You have to beat 5+ things in the same boss battle!!!
The Summoner One, A Devil Imp, A Fire Dijinn, a Blood Ogre, a Succubus, and the Summoner Two! The other imps are optional.

GHOSTS. AND. GOBLINS. HARD.

You're either exaggerating or you've never actually played G&G. I'm guessing it's the latter.

@Mogri: I've played a demo online. It's hard. Really. Hard. So, I know what i'm talking about. Monsters rising from the ground constantly, ghosts floating around, and a sparce amount of lives.

I was stuck on that fight for a LONG time too. As far as I can figure out, you need to stockpile large quantities of Jerky and healing items. The best time to do this is during the part where he summons the imp. DON'T kill the imp just yet. Have your Cleric cast whatever buffs you can get off first, then unload 30+ Jerky on your main damage dealer. Once you've done that, use whatever strong attacks you have to finish off the remaining foes.

There's also no such thing as being overleveled in this game. You'll gain access to much more useful moves, and those few extra points of HP and Spell Slots really do come in handy.

I creamed the Summoner on my first try, not sure how he's an issue. Just spam all your strongest attacks and heal pretty much. You can watch my stream (part 3 I think) to see how I handled it. I did this without grinding at any point in the game.

I'm stuck in the "Spencer Mansion". Thank God there aren't any zombies running around. That's my ONE lucky break with this place, aside from that the music is very appropriate. Can't figure out where to go though. There's two switches I've located, neither of which seems to do anything.

And the room with the lone clock is a trap. It only lets you out ONCE. Repeated returns get you stuck there, unable to escape, and given that I've been running in circles trying to find the way out of this dungeon, I'm... completely at a loss for where to go or what to do. Sad

Edit: Bloody 'ell, it worked THIS time for some reason. And the fight with the boss is fantastic. You have to CAREFULLY watch him. Best chapter thematically..... once you know how to do it.

That part gave me trouble too. There were a few bugs in it, which I'm pretty sure I mentioned to the developers at some point. Can't leave the clock room twice, one of the furnaces burns you even though it's closed.

I remember now, what gave me trouble...
On the dinner table, there is a note or key. Think a key. For whatever reason, kept passing it. Maybe it was what the clock room triggers? So random.

Loved the hedge maze.

Pillage is the best skill ever. It's like a free 3-hit combo that can steal items. In fact, you get not one, but two chances to actually steal something every time you use it. And it hits pretty hard too. Did I mention it's the best skill ever?

Joyeuse is probably one of the best weapons in the game, hands down. It's holy element, and EVERYTHING end-game takes extra damage from it (undead in particular), plus it seems to boost quite a few stats. It's so awesome in Spellshard that it makes up for the completely lackluster performance it has in the Castlevania series.

Murasame's a much better version of the katana, and comes with a nice strength boost too. Same with that funny dagger whose name I can't remember.

One of my characters actually went DOWN a level once I hit my last class change. I'm not complaining though since everybody else went UP.
