Spellshard: The Black Crown of Horgoth (FULL GAME RELEASE)

Hey all!

I'm happy to announce that Shizuma and I have finally finished the 8-bit RPG we began work on in 2002, SPELLSHARD: THE BLACK CROWN OF HORGOTH.

Some of you might remember this release from the original demo sent out way back when, but this is now the COMPLETE VERSION of the game. Expect around 30-40 hours of gameplay, a robust branching class system, and hopefully, an all-around fun and engaging experience. The downloadable package has some nice little extras you may want to check out, such as a poster, and a retro-style PDF manual.

Back when this game was a somewhat-buggy demo, it really inspired me. Now the game is finally complete, and so I'm looking forward to spending the next two months playing it through. Perhaps at the end I'll write a review.

We just updated the downloads to 1.01 by the way. The update is pretty much just to fix one small cosmetic error, but if you've already grabbed it, consider updating!

I keep trying to pickpocket roaches and rats. Does this make me crazy? It worked on the wolves.

I don't know why you have the STEAL WAS SUCCESSFUL message when Steal works normally, since the enemies have non-100% steal-rates. STEAL SUCCEEDS followed by STEAL FAILED! looks awkward to me.

Looks good. I wish I could draw 8-Bit style. My graphics are trapped between 8-bit and regular.
