You need to refresh your class to choose the appropriate weapons.

Is MegaTact supposed to have more than swords?
Yes. It also has sorcery.
If all you see is swords, you need to change classes and hit "Refresh/Preview." All of the game's equipment is included, although bags currently don't show up due to a bug. This might be for the best; bags are generally deceptively bad.

A minor request. I know you mentioned that the interface was designed to be friendly to mobile devices-- that is why it is tall and narrow. However, those blocks of content look pretty well organized and rearrangeable. Is there any hope of an (optional) wide-screen layout? The giant swathe of empty space on the left side of my screen is more than enough room for the lower-left info column, and the giant swath of space on the right side of my screen is more than enough space for the unit-actions menu.
I appreciate that I can play on an iPhone without a massive amount of zooming, but it is a shame that comes at a cost of so much scrolling up and down on the desktop.

Layout isn't my #1 priority right now, but I'll take a look at it down the road. I agree that most of the screen is wasted on standard resolutions.
Out of curiosity, what are you running? The current width is 750, which is perfect for 800x600 monitors, but I'm fine dropping support for them and moving up to the 21st century of 1024.

I am running 1280 x 800 on a widescreen laptop. But according to this page 14% of users still use 1024 width, so going bigger than that does seem like a bad idea.
EDIT: Also, in Battle #36, I tried to have Bianca do "Secret Fist", but I cannot choose a target for it.
Baconlabs: I wasn't sure what you meant by "Mid Tier" equipment. It might have been better to specify "stuff you'd realistically have up until X point in the game," heh.

Also Mogri, I am getting this on my Megatact page (No menus available):
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in /home/mogri/slimesalad.com/fft/abils.php on line 804
The problem with tiers is that there is simply too much stuff to look out for. You can't ban specific abilities, so Chirijaden(sp) is always gonna be obscene.

Fluid width?
People don't use 800x600 but people with obscenely large screens generally adjust the width of their windows to be around the same.

This is going to be a built-in option at some point. The item data already contains indicators of when they're available, both in terms of story and effective level.

Yeah, yeah, it's fixed. I just noticed that the Bio series, the Space Storage attacks, and Holy Sword were missing their Add statuses.

This will also be built in eventually.
A bit of history: FFT has been played by hand for a long time now under the name Super Tact. This is a tedious process that requires a moderator. Tournaments often run specific rulesets, sometimes modifying existing abilities for balance or variety. Mega Tact attempts to take all of that and automate it.

Why can't you ban abilities? You can easily ban them. You can ban whole jobs if need be.
You could make the tiers based off of points in the game. like say, tier one is point X in the game. So you could only really have This this and this.

In battle 37, I noticed this in the action history window, and I was wondering if it was supposed to report the number of rounds left
Also wondering if we will (eventually) get (limited) undo support. For example, I move to a position, and then while at that position and choosing my attack I realize I moved stupidly, and should have been one tile to the left.
Code:
Zoroaster (G) rots (rounds until death).

Mwahaha! FFT's draconic movement rules strike again!
