To add to that list... Alligator, Anaconda, Arrrr! (like a pirate), and Antidisestablishmentarianism. Okay, maybe not that last one... probably wouldn't fit on the current-version line at the bottom of the screen, heh.

Amusement (wink wink, James)
Asparagus (disgusting vegetable, but cool engine name)
Autonomy (if only)
Annual (because, you know, it may remind you guys to release more often)
Androgynous (describes the engine perfectly)
Attrition (describes what the developers feel when improving old code)

Abobo would be pretty funny, I'll admit, even if I was against Zoidberg. I also thought Pepsi's reasoning for Attrition was pretty funny. And Acronym and Alphanumeric are good too. I don't have much to add, I'm afraid.

Adriatica - um, I guess it's kinda mystical sounding? Okay okay, I've been playing Diplomacy online a lot lately and my cousin (who's also playing) always seems to be worried about the Adriatic Sea.
AlakaBAM! - I mean, it's got some kind of zing when you shout it out loud.
Apoplectic - I'm guessing this is how cleaning old code actually feels in the midst of trying to do it.

Astatine (the heaviest halogen element) ...
alectormancy (divination by sacrificing a roosteR)
arithmomania (obssessive preoccupation with numbers)...

or how about one more appropriate to James' state of mind when trying to pick a name:

aboulomania (pathological indecisiveness)
