I just watched Deforestation.
--- was you expecting me to say more?
-- My brain feels itchy now and I have a strong desire to take an axe to a tree to release pent up bafflement.

Technically, your brain can't be itchy.
And I think it wanted you to not cut more trees.

Technically, that's uhh....i'm sorry, did you think I was making a serious statement? Next thing you'll be telling me is that my liver can't bust out laughing, not technically anyways. But it's cool since it was a bad line of jokes on my part anyhow.
Also, how do you know it wants you to not cut down more trees? This could be one of those reverse psychology moves, propaganda put out by some sort of lumberjack union to make people go out and cut more trees. Look, I know it sounds stupid and illogical, but really, do lumberjacks ever make a lick of sense?

1984? Yeah right, man. That's a typo. Orwell is here now. He's livin' large. We have no names, man. No names. We are nameless!

You'll have to do that anyway.
If hype alone can carry this, it will win, otherwise, I'll have to wait for the rest of the competitors before making my final judgment.
I'm going to try to rope in an actual hippie friend of mine and try to do a dual review on Deforestation. More on that later.

Well, apparently you all are a buncha lumberjack-huggin', forest-kissin', hippy-lickers. I personally enjoy the home I live in and those nifty little wooden trays for placing your Dominoes on, and those wooden back scratchers that look like hands....dietreesdie!
MG Duck would have been funnier if it had text to go along with the voice acting because there was honestly a lot of stuff I couldn't quite make out.
It also would have been better without ripped backdrops but I guess that was its point.

It was going to have real graphics/a game but I was leaving for vacation and wanted to get in AN entry, even if it gets disqualified.

I think text would have been distracting and the fact that some of the dialogue was a bit muffled and distorted added a little more novelty to the whole thing, especially the proverb parts....all I really caught was something about a tree in a wasteland so it wouldn't be so empty or something.

I agree that no text suited the proverb parts but the real reason is I didn't have time to program the strings.

Does anything ever happen after "WE SHALL BE AS DOGS?" If so, I missed it--I'm on my dad's old computer right now (runs OHR painfully slow) and I didn't want to sit and listen to the same song repeat again and again any longer after the first 10-15 minutes of nothing different happening.
And speaking of listening to the same song over and over endlessly, I got to a point where I was bored and started writing down what the words sounded like to me (probably very far from what it was actually saying, though... what language is that?) Not sure exactly what point in the song this starts at, but here it is:
There was more than this, but it had so many "(something)s" where I couldn't make out the words well enough to actually put anything down, so I just left those parts out. And I probably missed a few shorter words here and there in the rush to write down the few bits I did (mis)hear, so it probably doesn't match up well at all. Oh well.

There's nothing after that
The song is "The Best is Yet to Come" from the MGS OST, you can google the language I suppose.

Would you mind telling me the details of your Dad's old computer's hardware? Processor? memory? Windows version? I would like to list it at http://rpg.hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/System_Requirements as an example of a computer that is too slow for the OHR
