Yes I am making a game in the same style as, say, the original Final Fantasy Adventure (the one like Zelda/Link). Is this 2-bit?

If you want to split hairs, I don't think it's possible to make a 2-bit game in the OHR.

Well, yeah, I meant the colors, only. Like, the black, dark grey, light grey, and white. Sorry for not being specific.

And ads by 'gum gum'? Anyway, don't worry about it getting too off topic. I just wanted some opinions about it.

Back on topic, you're essentially just making a greyscale game with a 4-color palette. You're trying to imitate Game Boy era games, I can respect that. Bear in mind that you've got competition in this area.

Yes, it is supposed to be game boy-esque. Puckamon is fun, but this will be grey, not green, and strangley enough, not about catching monsters.

Your game is imitating games made on 8-bit processors.
Is using a global 2-bit color palette.
Each sprite & tile has 2 bits per pixel.

Looks good. And I recall working in Gameboy development tools that there was 4 shades, but of course on a sprite there was one unused shade for transparency.

So you can get another in there somewhere else.

Maybe I should enter into the unofficial competition of 2-bit games!
