I'm juggling several ideas right now. My strongest ideas are in two separate categories - a "figure out how to kill this monster" battle, and a "I am going to tell a story with OHR battles" battle.
Would the community prefer either one in particular?
If I have enough time on my hands this month I might enter all of my ideas as seperate entries.

What about making a bunch of mechanically identical attacks with different captions, sound effects, and graphics?
I would rather you didn't. It makes it harder to verify that you followed the rules.
Bacon: you may submit multiple entries as long as you don't flood the contest. I suggest submitting no more than three entries.
Mega Tact v1.1
Super Penguin Chef
Wizard Blocks
My entry, "there is nothing left."
There are 2 endings.

My entry, Arms Race. There are two endings, the one where you lose and the one where you win. But they're actually the same ending.

The title screen explains things fairly well, but I'll elaborate a bit more here.
1. Use Fight to fight.
2. Fight enemies to raise stats.
2.1. Different enemies raise different stats when fought.
2.2. Some enemies don't raise any stats, but you should fight them anyways.
2.3. The enemies gradually get stronger with each one you fight.
2.35. Some enemies don't get stronger, but somehow this'll still make the game harder.
3. Fight the final boss to death.
4. You're very unlikely to win by holding down the spacebar.

Is that legal? I thought you could only have one battle the whole game.
I've been procrastinating again. Alas and alack, Starcraft tournaments. I'm going with a relatively simple concept. There are four enemies:
-One is "standard", with high HP
-One heals whoever last attacked him, but doesn't have a lot of HP to take these hits.
-One explodes when hit, causing tons of damage to friend and foe alike.
-One just stabs the dude with the lowest HP.
The gimmick is that your attack gets a LOT stronger when you're low on health, but being low on health makes it harder to stay alive. One character has an extra "Hit" (via the hit stat), but has the lowest health.
Civilization IV beckons, but my to-do for tomorrow:
1. Main enemy gets stronger as the battle goes, to prevent turtling.
2. Boss and Stabber need their attack levels tweaked upward.
3. Curebot heals ludicrously too much.
4. Bomb enemy is fine.

I was holding off until the last few days to do mine, which didn't work out due to having out-of-nowhere babysitting duty this weekend. Now I will do my best to pull something off at the last minute.

Yeah, I started mine yesterday, and it's already semi-competent. I'm sure mine won't be the best entry, but I'm hoping it'll be the one most applicable to other games, as I'm not using elements or stats in a way unique to this one battle.
