I was pretty big in the byond community around 2001-2002. I'm surprised to see it's still around.
It's very, very similar to c++ or perhaps Java. Some people come up with some pretty good stuff, and I wonder how much it has evolved since then.
However, at a certain point, it's like, why don't I just go learn an actual language and not be limited by the engine? For example, at the time it was impossible to do anything on the pixel level, it had to be tiles.
[edit] Wow, crazy nostalgia. There are names I recognize - also, apparently the engine has had a ton of changes (which is expected)
