Lao reaches his hand out for the rope.

Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy... So here's some lunchmeat... Sandwich, maybe?

Ehaism hands the rope to Lao. He looks across the pit, and notices that Cile is NOT holding the other end of the rope. he has just tied it to a pole, and is now mooning down the dark tunnel.

Ehaism is uncomfortable with this whole gorge situation.

Lao looks around at the ground and the walls of the cave for a suitable place to tie the other end of the rope to.

Vire sends Liev into the gorge to scout.

Ehaism scrunches up his brow and thinks hard.

Lao finds a stalagmite on the side of the cave wall which seems sturdy. He then ties the rope the best he can to it and looks across the chasm at his goal.

Liev quick swoops down the hole into the chasm below. After a minute he reports back nothing, but vast emptiness. He was quickly unable to see after flying down the chasm.

Lao wipes his hands clean after tying the rope.



Lao keeps both hands on the rope, ready to grasp hold if something should go wrong.

Ehaism continues his line of thought.

Ehaism walks back up the tunnel to where they had recently fought the battle.

He takes a good look at the "tree" in the middle of the room, to try and decide if there is any part of it small enough to cut off, yet big enough to be useful spanning the chasm.

Vire huffs.

Ehaism
As Ehaism examines the tree, he notices this it's been split down the middle several times like an orange or something. Most likely from the force of it hitting the ceiling, but he doesn't deduce that fact. With a couple of attacks the whole tree comes crumbling down. There are a number useable pieces to be gathered, most of which seem like they could do the job. In all Ehaism gathers 5 planks of about 20'-25' in length. Hopefully they'll support him, and hopefully he'll be able to balance himself while he walks across.

Ehaism returns to the others, dragging five long crude planks of wood and wearing a very proud expression on his face.

The shortest is about 20 feet, and the longest is about 25 feet. They have bark on them, and some little twiggy branchy bits sticking out here and there, but they are pretty straight, and reasonably strong.

Making no effort to conceal his irritation that nobody has congratulated him on finding the wood planks, Ehaism begins trying to figure out what to do with them. The longest one looks a few feet too short to span the whole chasm, but a couple of them tied tightly together should span it easily with plenty of overlap.

If only he had a rope.

Cile looks back to the rest of the gang.

Watching Ehaism's apparent frustration with his attempt to build a bridge, Lao removes his shirt, and shreds it into four seperate but equal length pieces. He then begins to tie two of the planks together with the shreds in two places, then again with the other two, allowing plenty of overlap while still being able to span the gap. He really really hopes his heavy shirt is strong enough to hold the planks together, at least so one person can cross at a time.
