THE CAMPAIGN: Chapter 1-"The Dragons in the Desert"

Taking the kobolds advice, the Ogres smash a Gem underfoot. A blinding light shoots forth, and the 2 ogres are tossed back several feet by the appearance of something that's too big to be an ogre.
This might have been a human once. Now it is a bloated horror, distended veins sprawling across it's livid skin. Scraps of rotting cloths are all that cover it's swollen body. It's empty eyes fix on the party and ogres alike, and it lurches forward with swinging fists.

The hulking monster slams down it's fist onto the ogre near the ox. Blood shoots out from the ogre's mouth. (28 dmg) It looks like the ogre is having a hard time even standing now.

Vire swears loudly in draconic.

Ehaism had believed that nothing could be more alarming than the appearance of the rigid brown tentacle monster (which seems to be holding awfully still at the moment?) He was proven wrong by the sudden appearance of a gruesome giant.

Barbarian Rage!

Ehaism takes the short step east, closer to the wounded ogre, and Power Attack(4)'s the giant, using his double-handed sword.

Lao rushes to Ribbon and Ehaism's side, partially surrounding the giant in his corner. Focusing his strength into his fist, Lao aims for the giant's kneecap, his most viable target, and let's loose a thunderous battlecry as he strikes at this vital point.

Ehaism swings in, and rends the spongey flesh of the monster. Blood shoots out from the beast. But it doesn't seem to even notice. (20 dmg)

Lao let's loose a blunt attack to the monster's feet. A noticable bruise appears quickly. (5 dmg)



All eyes on Ribbon.

Ribbon briefly considers closing her eyes again, but chooses to instead bestow upon her self the bite of the wolf..

Ribbon's teeth and jaw grow to resemble that of a dog's.

The ogres both smash into the hulk with their clubs.
The staggering ogre near the ox and wagon, flies into a rage and plants his club right in a very critical area for males. But the monster doesn't seem to be affected by this most critical of hits (17 dmg)
The second ogre smashes his club squarely in the back of the creature. (19 dmg)




Can Cile save the day?
Or will Vire steal the show?
If nothing else, hopefully the giant monster won't win.
Stay tuned.

Cile will attempt to figure out what the heck the GIANT is.
Hoping that any of his available Knowledges can tell him something.

He jumps to and climbs towards some sufficiently sturdy branch of the newly-spawned Tree so that he can get a better view of the situation.

Cile unsheathes his reliable Rapier, grasps it in both hands, and awaits his next action.

Cile's knowledge of Religion tells him:
This is a bloodhulk, a kind of mindless undead. It can withstand tremendous physical punishment. ( You also know what undead are, fyi. ) A bloodhulk is created through a foul ritual that satuartes a dead creature's flesh with blood of other victims. This extra blood gives it massive strength, but also make it weak to edged weapons.

Vire moves five feet northeast and beckons to Liev. He casts Haste, targeting everyone but the giant and Cile. Liev partakes of the spell through Vire.

Hastily casting a spell, Vire enchants everyone, except the monster and Cile, with the power of increased speed.

The giant bloated monster, attacks the ogre to his left. The attack strikes the ogre directly under his chin in an uppercutting motion. It hits the ogre with such force that it knocks his head right off. ( 40 dmg )



Ehaism's time to shine has come.
Followed by, Lao Tsung's time to shine.
Then Ribbon's time to shine will come.
After that the remaining ogre's time to shine will come.
Will any of these times really shine? Only time will tell.

Ehaism Power Attack(5)(4)'s the monster with his sword

if the first attack connects, he will follow it with power attack (6). If the first attack misses he will power attack (3)

Ehaism slashes at the monster. Blood gushes out from the wound the lizard inflicts. (22 dmg) Then again, Bring his sword back another time thanks to the speed granted by Vire. (19 dmg) Ehaism's bite doesn't affect the beast, but he does get a mouth full of old scabby blood.



Lao Tsung, let's see what you got.
Ribbon, we've already seen it, but let's see more.

Lao slides a foot back, bringing one fist to his side, and the other up in front of his face. He exhales, and with a blinding flash, lets loose a mighty flurry of blows. Then, focusing his energy into his fist, Lao aims another direct attack at the giant.
