The adventures gathered their things and set off toward the dragon's horde, leaving the bodies of their traveling companions behind them. They managed to preform Gregor's job of steering and controlling the ox with general ease. The road ahead seems endless, with nothing in the horizon but sand.
They travel forward through the day. With nothing in sight for miles guided by the kobold who seems to know the way. As the sun starts to wane, a sparkle of light appears in the distance. It seems like the angle of the sun's light has revealed something reflective in the distance.
The group travels forward to find a sizeable black burn mark in the terrain. Upon closer inspection, the group comes to see a several people scorched into the earth. A few of the people seemed to have been wearing armor. Kytana's keen eyes make out a scorched marking on the the suits of armor matching those of the Templars of Lord Neil.

Ehaism laughs.
He spits on the charred lump of bone and armor.
He glances up and behind, and all around. The size of the burn mark is very unsettling. He remembers the horrible thing that killed Echo, and recalls that it didn't even leave a tiny burn mark on the terrain.
He laughs again. Uncomfortably.

Vire is a little unsettled, but not enough so that his looter's instinct doesn't kick in. He searches the corpses for goodies.

Among the charred rumble, very little seems to be of any use. The only things that seemed to survive the fire were the Armor, Swords, and Bone.
The sun has set at this point. The day seemed to go by so fast. Of course having slept past noon the party isn't yet tired and could most likely continue on for several more hours.

Ehaism vaguely remembers that Gregor said something about the dragons having taken the treasure from Lord Neil's caravans, but he wasn't paying much attention at the time because he thought it wasn't important.
Maybe this scene of grisly burning death happened before the Dwarf found the treasure.

Impatient, Ehaism tries to look over Vire's shoulder at the map. This is easy, being twice Vire's height, but to Ehaism's illiterate eyes, the map just looks like a bunch of big squiggles decorated with much smaller squiggles.
Ehaism feels that anything on paper is magic. He continues to stare, pretending he knows what it means, pretending to ponder sagely.

Ehaism hides his surprise at Vire's proclamation regarding the map's uselessness. So it actually IS a bunch of meaningless scribbles! Maybe Ehaism is better at reading maps than he thought he was.

The party journeys forward into the night.
After a while, a large roar can be heard far to the right of the party. A bright flash of fire can be seen in the distance. Then from the far left, another roar. After a few moments, 2 large dragons clash in the air far above the party and to the right. Flame and acid burst into the night sky. In what seems like mere moments, a large black dragon falls to the ground about a mile from the party, and the other dragon disappears back to where ever it came from.
It now nears day break, and the party is very tired, having walked most of the day and all of the night. The black dragon only a mile away is the only sizeable landmark nearby.
