To those who thought that Eternity Fragment was too easy, I've rebalanced some of the stats. It feels a bit more natural now, and EXP rewards have been reduced. Here's the download. Comments and criticisms are appreciated.
I'm still working on polishing it, and maybe I can write the ending in time so I can remove the abrupt stop before the final area.

One more thing: please make the NPCs pushable. I had to wait on one to leave that long narrow corridor in the first area for ages.

Pepsi, was it I that inspired you to also add T-shirts into the mix from my CastleParadox post back in September?
http://www.castleparadox.com/ohr/viewtopic.php?p=83645#83645
Just curious, as the T-shirts were not originally part the contest.

Did you mention this in another thread? If so, I missed it and/or forgot.
What version of Windows are you using? Also, can you go to start->run and type dxdiag and see what version of directx you have installed?

I should mention that I still have to use -gfx sdl for it to even work at all.

I did mention it before, it just isn't as big a deal because no one else seems to be having the issue.

I just finished the Motrya demo. Great job! Seriously, I can't remember the last time I enjoyed an OHR game so much, or was so excited for the next installment. The "scroll vs. cast" battle mechanic is interesting, the battles are well-balanced and challenging, the setting is cool (loved the idyllic school opening combined with the 'everything was a lie' narration), and the story leaves me wanting more. Nice!
Two things:
First, it played beautifully on my Mac. You might want to update your website to say this can be done.
Second, a bug report: After you defeat Exsoin the first time and flee to the cathedral, you can turn around and return to the map where you fought the battle. Exsoin and her troops will be standing around patiently. You can talk to them, but they won't say anything; they will turn towards you and listen politely though. To make matters worse, after you get here, you can't escape! None of the doors seem to work anymore. I had to reload an old save.
Other than that, keep up the good work. I can't wait for chapter 2.

Holy slimes, how did that one slip by us? We had like 8 testers! Well, thanks.
EDIT: Uploaded a fixed version. This version also has the "Calmness" stat changed to "Resistance" and replaced the burn sound effect with a less annoying one. Minor crap.
Anyway, as for the Mac thing, did you run it with the normal exe? Admittedly I have never tried to play an OHR game on a Mac.

I added your game to the list on the wiki, but I notice two zip files. Are they the same?
Yea, they are the same. It's the first time I have ever uploaded a game. Actually it's the first time I've ever uploaded anything and I couldn't figure out how to undo it once I had clicked into a second one- I'm very sorry!
You can't fix stupidity.
You need the mac version of Game, found here:
http://tmc.castleparadox.com/ohr/ohrrpgce-macosx-2010-10-22-wip.tar.bz2
I think this is still a test version, but it played Motrya with no problems.

I added that info to the bug report. Thank you for the info!

Two copies are better than zero ;)

The mac version is still indeed considered experimental, so we are very eager to hear any and all reports of how it works for you.

Regarding the info on the Motrya site about using the Linux & Mac versions. The Linux version is named ohrrpgce-game instead of game.exe and the Mac version is named OHRRPGCE-Game.app instead of game.exe (although the .app part will normally be invisible on Mac, just like the .exe part is normally invisible on Windows)

I played more of it with the rebalance. It's a lot better this time, and reminds me of the beginning of FF1. I don't really have the patience for this stuff like I used to so I might not finish before the voting ends, but good job on this based on what I've seen so far.
James: Thanks, I updated the page to reflect that.

Here are my first 2 video reviews for Heart of OHR games. I will be uploading my Legendary Heroes and Motrya videos very shortly and post links to them.
I do review somewhat like a game tester/bug tester, but it is over very constructive feed back for the developers. It gives them an idea of where the various bugs in their current games are so that they may be resolved before everybody hits the polls.
These are my second playthroughs on each of these games, and they are in Alphabetical order.
Apophenia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUZEY_bHkhY
Eternity Fragment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSFuLXw5WgA
The videos contain no music to save file size during upload, although annotations have been added for your viewing pleasure.

Three more videos of gameplay with a short review in the Annotations.
Legendary Heroes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5YcVtQb8ls
Motrya: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0_3bCyGfiA
Skyfall: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KacL6reEr84
All of these games are great, and for the most part completely bug free, as far as I can see. Very little complains, a suggestion here and there, and that's about it. For Motrya and Skyfall, these are only the first 7 minutes of the demo, although the demo does extend this.
For those who haven't completed the Skyfall demo due to the so called white tiles... Those white tiles are suppose to be white, you are on a cloud, and the tiles completely fit the scene. After you are here, speak with the King and head all the way south to your dragon. The demo and story will then continue afterwards on the ground in the same cave. It will also explain what is going on as well, for those were are confused(as I was at first).
I am not making videos of games which have been extended, as this would result in a video that is just an intro sequence which has already been played/seen. The games that have extensions are for the most part already reviewed and for the most part bug-free.
My next post(tomorrow) will include the final games in the list: Tales 2 and Viridia. Remember, I am doing the games in alphabetical order.

Some comments on the Motrya video:
- First, thanks for the nice comments, as well as making these videos for all the games. I'm sure we all appreciate it.
- The demo is close to 2.5 hours long, so I'm not sure why you say it's 40+ minutes. (I suppose that is technically accurate) The card system is a minor part of the game.
- He isn't taking HP damage because Lytes (MP) are being drained. This is explained/inferred (several times) throughout the game, but also during the same study session you showed in the video. No bug there.
- Given that Rodney is a muscle-obsessed jock I always thought it was pretty clear why he entered the training room? Nobody else has ever commented on this not making sense.
EDIT: I figured out the music fade thing just now... was having some problems getting it to work before. Thanks for that particularly.
Also,
TO FNNRRRF: There is a bug in Okedoke's intro. I was able to call up the menu during it.
