TMC checked it into the nightly builds two-years-ago-last-saturday.... so quite a while ago :)

Have you tried the CTRL+F1 teleporter?

That's good for when I'm sitting down to test the game, but I'm talking about launching a test instance from the editor. As it is, I have to save and exit in Custom, then load up Game.

I see, you're not running the programs in windows. I can see how that might be a problem. Perhaps you should set-up your computer to launch the programs as windows instead of full screen. That or just press Alt+enter

You can run game and custom at the same time (in windows, as Spoonweaver describes) but you do still have to exit out far enough to save your progress in custom first, which means you lose your place in whatever menu you happened to be in.

Being able to save from any menu would be nice, bu it would require each menu to be cleaned up to support it, and there are a heck of a lot of menus.

Although when I get around to doing the editor editor I can definitely work on that as a feature.

I always run them in windows (fullscreen seems to ignore my fixed aspect-ratio settings...), but I always considered it bad practice to have a file open in two programs at once. Can I have both running, make a change in Custom, save, and see it show up in the game the next time that content loads, or do I have to close Game and reopen it to see the changes?

You have to reopen the game for it to change.

This doesn't need to be part of the contest or anything, but while we're discussing built-in features like the teleporter and whatnot, I still keep thinking that it would be nice to have a cleaned up sound effects preview when adding them to attacks (currently, they make a noise as you scroll through them in the attack editor, and eventually they clash, and it's seriously annoying when you have ambient sounds kicking in that sometimes last 30 seconds or longer--tangent); and even nicer would be the ability to preview songs in the General Map Data bitset for maps. I think the old behavior of hitting Enter (previously used for sound effects) for all sound related features would be excellent for CUSTOM.

Again, I don't think this needs to be part of the contest, especially if it's a simple addition, but since we're overloading this thread with feature talk, I thought I'd throw my two cents in. Even if "hitting Enter" previews don't happen, a cleaner sound effects preview for attacks (and wherever else they may be used, but I haven't discovered yet) would be really nice.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted anything, and I was just wondering if I was supposed to manually put in my request into the Heart-bugs page since I noticed that it was not up yet. I'm not trying to push it- was just curious!
Also, does a game have to be "complete" to enter this? I highly doubt that mine will be. I've dipped into a bit of a slump but I should be working on it again soon... but regardless, the plan is for it to be a fairly long game (similar length to my brother's I hope) and I'm not too confident about getting close to that much game time in by November (I'm not hoping for much more than 5 or 6 hours by then, to be honest.)
Thanks in advance for any feedback on either issue!
You can't fix stupidity.

No, the game doesn't have to be complete, but my contests generally request for finished chapters or segments. In other words, I appreciate entries that don't leave me hanging on "where do I go from here; oh I can't go anywhere from here because there's nothing else for me to do in the game, and I had no idea that I was finished because nothing in the game told me that I had gone as far as I can" syndrome. Give us end of demo message and you should be fine.

Somewhat unrelated to the contest minor feature request:

Can we add a prompt to the "Delete Sound" option in the Sound Effects menu? I have accidentally deleted a sound and freaked out like crazy several times now.

I am pounding away at Motrya, hoping it will be ready for this contest, but it's not looking like it. I refuse to release a demo until all the music is in Part 1 (main thing we're waiting on at this point).

This one was super easy to fix. I just did it :)

Early nightly build forced, currently in progress!

So... is anybody making progress on their entries? I'm almost done with my preliminary map design phase, just have endgame and a few extra maps left, then I can start detailing and filling up my tileset.

I've finished chapter 8 plus some miscellaneous improvements. I haven't actually done anything in the last month, though.

After the PC crashed beyond fixing, I started on a new one... can't guarantee anything, though...
