I'll enter something, just for one feature to be added hopefully.

We really need a way to adjust sound effect volume, along with a way to script the raising and lowering of sfx and background music.

Unfortunately that is very difficult considering the limitations of our sound backends.

Maybe after SDL 2.0 is supported...

Is there any way to adjust the master volume, then? You could fake it that way.

Do we HAVE to make a request to enter? I'm still getting acquainted with OHR and really can't say what I'd like to see added or fixed yet. Besides, I'm more interested in using the contest as an excuse to learn OHR.

No idea what to request? Just copy what someone else is asking for. In this list you'll notice that some folks have picked the same bug and that's perfectly fine, so you could follow suit if you wanted to.

No, this was more of an incentive for people to enter something into the contest, and not just say they would. Too often people want to submit a game for a contest, but never do. This is one of the ways I thought that not only would people actually stick with their projects, but they'd avoid procrastination, as well.

You don't have to request a feature or a bug, but somewhere along your game's development you may stumble across something you need that the OHR can't do yet. This contest gives you an option to have that need implemented as a priority rather than a distant and lofty hope.

If you can't think of anything you want, then no worries.

I know I've said this before but I am going to try and get something released for this contest. As to what it actually is, that's for me to know and everyone else to not know until later. ;)

I'm making progress, not sure if I should make a separate progress report thread or not though.



Two out of seventeen planned areas are designed, being the overworld and the first dungeon. No original graphics yet, just using placeholders at the moment.

Hmm, is it too late to request a feature/bugfix? I wasn't originally going to do one, but I had a very good idea for one while scripting something today.

EDIT: Nevermind - just noticed my request is already in the list (on menu open plotscript trigger).

Can we get some kind of "play from here" testing mode in the editor? Select a tile on a map, and it starts a new game at that position. Also add a menu to select bitsets and such before starting.

Press F4 to open the tag menu, + and - to scroll through, and I think Ctrl+ and Ctrl- to set or unset the tags.

I found many tile sets, and thought I haven't done much yet.... I still am making it.... expect screenshots in oh.... seven days.

Have you tried the CTRL+F1 teleporter?
