Fangame contest.

i am sad to say, my dad is going out of town for a few days. which is a problem because all my OHR-ing must be done on his laptop. (which becomes mine at the end of summer...)

this mario game, and the ballin story pepsi ranger has developed for it, is far too awesome to not be continued. but. there will not be a demo release for this contest... this is not the worst thing ever, as i was gonna have to cut some corners to get it out in time.

it will continue, however, and i am definitely entering it in heart of the OHR.



thats what i mean. the big chins are such a good style. they do look funny and cartoony, but i think thats kind of the point. i didnt mean anything negative, sorry if it sounded so. but i think they're ballin sweet. and batman looks so good with that massive chin jutting out.

Don't expect to see a Wolverine game, either. It got too big to fast. So I started working on an awesome Nightmare on Elm Street idea I had yesterday. Hoping I can get a semi-good game done by Thurs, which is my last possible upload day before the end of the contest.

So who all is entering this with the intent of uploading a file for judging? People seem to be dropping like flies.

I am still in. My game now has 146 backdrops.

Having a very hard time with music and sound effects. This isn't the sort of job that sfxr can help me with.

Lol, I counted 1 person who dropped. J_Taylor posted that he's simply decided to make a different game. And shakeyair is still making his game, he's just not going to be able to release in time.
So, sorry RMZ, you're not going to win by default just yet.

Don't expect it to be a huge game, though. I DID start work on it yesterday.

Oh no, I don't want to win by default by any means. I want to put up a fight and have a challenge, haha. I just heard from people who said they were thinking of pulling out of the contest, so I didn't know how many were still in it. I haven't entered a contest since the 1st 8-bit one, so I really hope there's a big turn out.

I haven't entered a contest in... forever. So how many people are still participating?

Include me among the dropped flies. I'm focusing all of my spare time on my entry for the Heart of the OHR contest.

What I was going to enter in the Fangame contest was terrible anyway. I had a much better idea once I reconsidered my Phantom of the OHRpera theme, but there's no way the new idea will be finished by the deadline.

Look forward to OHR Hero by the end of the summer, though!

There's a working Achievement system!

Don't forget to include as many puns as possible. Achievements and puns go together like peanuts and cheese, just ask Team Fortress 2.

I TOTALLY GOT INVITED BACK INTO WORLD OF WARCRAFT AND TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THIS CONTEST.

I also found a much better fan RPG of Touhou called Labyrinth of Touhou, and it kinda reminded me of what I wanted to make. Playing that one makes me continue to wish I could do the same things with OHRRPGCE.

EDIT: And by that I mean BATTLE SCRIPTING MAKE BATTLE SCRIPTING YOUR ENGINE NEEDS BATTLE SCRIPTING

There's only actually like 16 Achievements, most of them are for beating up thugs or bosses. The others are just straight forward. Like you get one for beating a level within X amount of time, one for beating a stage without healing items. I'm pretty proud of how it all works, even though it took forever to get it perfect.
