I wanted this one to start with actual screenshots on the first page. Progress has been awesome; the entire story is now playable, and we're basically just adding minor features, graphics and music at this point.

This is the Motrya, "Up to Chapter Two" Demo (25% version) thread. The game is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes long (but I'm a speed reader; it might be more like 2 hours).

The story concerns the main character, Murlor, who lives in a magical academy, Yormus, similar to Hogwarts from the Harry Potter series. Murlor is the only "magician" at his academy who has found himself incapable of using magic, but has managed to fool his professor for eight years. Trouble arises when an army arrives at Yormus Academy, and Murlor discovers a strange item that thrusts him, his best friend Dayang, and the valedictorian Icebird, in to the center of the conflict.

Unfortunately I can't show all the screenshots I want just yet because Newbie Power is working diligently on improving various parts of the game. VampiDucki's music is amazing, and really adds a lot of passion. I'd love to share the battle theme, but I'd be afraid of people ganking it.

There is definitely more to the game at first glance than from the screenshots, just that a lot of potential screen shots were either spoilers or a part of the game with visuals I want to keep a surprise.

I always wanted to play a game with a lot of snobs in it. The graphics look good. I don't know what to say except don't bore people to death with intro text boxes and you'll have a hit!

Newbie is done with graphics for the first demo! Now we're only delayed due to Vampiducki having issues in Japan. It'll be worth the wait, though.

I gotta say, I love the style of the graphics. For some reason, It kinda reminds me of... Pokemon?

Anyways, looks great! /Can't wait.

The flat shadows kinda bother me for the trees. It does look very good though.

Sorry for the delay guys. Yeah, the move has been rough and work has it's moments. Heh. I'll be getting internet in my apartment by next Wednesday so after that, I'll be getting a lot more done for you as well as RMZ who I'm finishing up a collab with. Lesson learned: Japan isn't all fun and games... just mostly. ;) また来週。"mataraishu" (See you next week.)

Motrya, still chugging along. We've made more gameplay tweaks, and Newbie has added lots of cool new graphics. Right now, I am working on a trading card game (basically, a rip-off of Triple Triad) that will be playable throughout the game. Thank goodness for slice trickery!

Back from my honeymoon, and the team's all working on Motrya again. (Well, Newbie's taking a break, but whatever). Estimated release time is now "Unknown," but it will be a much better demo when we're finished.
