An extra month of time sounds like a good idea to me.
I actually have an idea for another game, but I don't want to start working on something else before February is over because it'd probably take up too much of Okédoké's time (and then I probably won't finish Okédoké's secret area before February is over or finish the contest game in time!)
I've thought long and hard about it and I've decided not to give an extension. I do realize some people (including myself) have not been able to utilize contest time in the best way possible but some folks have worked very hard to make their projects work around the original contest time period.
My suggestion would be that if you cannot possibly finish in time to work it out as a demo that can be completed at a later time (or perhaps this contest again next year)

I'm not sure if I'm gonna be entering. Every time I get close to getting a major portion done, the 'link doors' shuts the program off. Getting really depressed about that.
That sounds like bug 813, which is already fixed. Are you still using the Ypsiliform release from Jan 08 2010? If so, upgrade to Ypsiliform+2 from Feb 8 2010 where that problem has already been fixed.
Boo to no extension. I understand, though. So when is the due date, exactly? Is it the end of next Saturday or the beginning?
So it's crunch time. What do you do!!
Heroes: complete!
Attacks: complete!
Intro: complete!
World map: complete! (such as it is)
Scripts: complete! (excluding future cutscenes)
Enemies: 9/??
Mega Tact v1.1
Super Penguin Chef
Wizard Blocks

No extension. Ugh.
Well the good news is, Worthy and I don't have to rush rush rush with this thing. We still have so much to do. Hell... we have like 4 more boss battles to do, and those can easily take 3-4 days a piece or more. This contest sounds like it's going to have more entries than all the other ones though, I'm pretty stoked.

The dungeon pictured above is complete. It's a little on the short side, but it's great. Slight graphics boost -- they still suck, but it looks a little less griddy.
Here's a little info about Crystal Chasers!
- Three heroes times five crystals equals fifteen unique jobs. Each job has three unique abilities. Some of the abilities are completely unique, such as turning enemies to gold or summoning an ally to occupy the fourth party slot.
- Heavy emphasis has been placed on dungeon design, and each dungeon has a special surprise. You'll spend the first half of the dungeon featured above jumping from rock to rock. Then, suddenly, the entire nature of the dungeon changes...
- You can take the dungeons in any order you want. Like Darkmoor Dungeon, there's no leveling up, and the difficulty gets bumped as you complete more dungeons.
- Save anywhere, shop anywhere, change jobs anywhere. No trudging back to town to do your business. No random battles. In addition, your heroes are all healed for 50% of their missing HP after each battle.
- I got the name off the Video Game Name Generator. (Does that mean it qualifies for the TGC?)

Not sure how much of a game I can actually make between now and next Friday... but since I'm done with my big school project and finished the Chapter 4 secret area in Okédoké, I figured I might as well at least start on this one while the idea is still bouncing around in my head.
No real screenshots yet... because I really haven't made more than a title screen and some hero/walkabout graphics.
Hopefully I'll have something more to show by time the weekend's over.

Two dungeons complete, and I'm feeling a lot better about my odds of finishing this game in the next five days (although admittedly it will be shorter than I'd like). Just Light, Shade, and Courage left to do, and I have a pretty good idea what I'm going to do with them.
