I have an enemy in my game that uses an attack which is set to do the following:

Plays a sound effect
40 tick text message
Spinstrike, Normal animation
Strength = 125% of Max
Self, Focused
No cost
No chains
Do Not display damage
Reset target stat to max before hit
Allow cure to exceed maximum

Now, whenever this enemy USES the attack, he dies. I have no explanation other than this must be a bug.

Here are his stats:
2000 HP
300 Str
9 Spd
Weak to Ice
Resist Earth
Flee Instead of Die
No spawns
25% chance of using the attack in question from his list.

My only guess is that somehow target:stat has been bugged to only work with HP and there's some sort of overflow error going on? Any thoughts?

Weird bug... what version are you using? A newer nightly?

I know that Xocolatl+ and the June 25th don't have a bug like this; at least, I've never had this happen in Okédoké, and there's a lot of enemies that use "percent of current"/"percent of maximum" stat-boosters on themselves.

It does sound like it could be some kind of HP overflow, except that 125% of 2000 shouldn't be enough to cause that problem... If it's a glitch making it use HP as the target stat, then maybe it could be some kind of problem with "%-based attacks damage instead of set" being on when it shouldn't be?

Yes, this was a bug in recent nightlies. I fixed it just a couple days ago. Set percentage was being treated like regular damage. Download a fresh nightly and it should be fine

Hrmmm...

I reproduced the attack and enemy you describe, and it works fine for me.

Could you send me a copy of your RPG file with a .SAV right before this enemy? I would like to try it out myself.

Okay, turns out this was not related to the recent percentage damage bug.

It looks like he just has the wrong attack in his attack list. He is supposed to be using rodneytaunt, but instead he is using the dauriustaunt attack intended for the insta-dying invisible enemy.
