Hey guys,
I haven't been too active in the past few months due to RL, but I have been trying to keep up to date with things when possible.
I'm afraid to say that I will likely be leaving the community for good. My hard drive suffered a severe meltdown and erased things that I unfortunately didn't back up. Things such as dialogue scripts I was writing for future games, all of my Hamster Wheel files, work files, everything. It is all gone.
At this point in my life, I just don't have the urge to do all of it over again. As much as I wanted to make another game, having lost all of my documents for future titles has pretty much stopped that from ever happening.
I just want to say good luck to you all and keep the community going. Perhaps I can still contribute reviews to Hamsterspeak in the future, but unfortunately I am not in a good state of mind for that now. I enjoyed my 10 year stay in this community, met a lot of cool people, and finally released two games. It may not be much, but it means a lot to me.
As homosexual as it sounds, i'm going to miss you guys. I'm going to miss developing ideas for games. I'm going to miss the community period. I'm also going to miss update the Hamster Wheel.
Yes, the Hamster Wheel will be taken down, but if someone would like the source files and database backup to keep it going, i'd be happy to pass that along to you. Otherwise, I'm afraid it will likely vanish in the wind.
I'll try and stick my head in and say hello every once in a while. Take care all, it was fun.

That sucks. Sorry to hear it.
But, you know, all your Hamster Wheel files are still on the website, along with anything else you may have uploaded.

Ouch, sorry to hear. I hope things turn out right in the future.
But always remember, there's nothing wrong with a merely tangential relationship with the community. It's what I've been doing for years, after all, and these aren't too shabby people to board around with. After the bad times from the crash clear up, at least.

Thank you for your complete and honest review of Tales I. 25 or so hours of playtime was it for you? I really appreciated that.
In any case, don't look too far ahead, man. In a week, or a month, or a year, maybe something new will come to mind and you'll want to start a brand new game! But for now, good luck with everything, and I hope the meltdown didn't cost you too much that was more serious than games.
I am Srime

What Uncy and Momako said.
I haven't produced jack squat in years, but I still lurk. We need good minds like you around, even if it is just to critique screenshots and offer witty advice.
Besides, everybody knows the OHR community is a huge black hole...nobody ever really leaves.
But if you really do go (and since you are stopping making games), I hope you find something you enjoy doing to fill that void. I'm sure you will. So here's to the best.
Luigi is almost as sexy as me!

Dude, if you're going to miss the community and developing ideas for games, why stop? I realize a hard drive meltdown is frustrating, and can deflate your enthusiasm a little, but it's not like there's a minimum amount of participation required to be a member of the community. Just keep hanging out on the boards and throw together a game when inspiration strikes! (My last two games both took around a week from start to finish, you know...)

As my repeated attempts prove.
Personally, I've lost everything to hard drive crashes. Six times. Once on XP, five times on 98 (twice the damage was so bad that I neeeded a new computer). I'm still plugging along...but, then you may not be as young/stubborn/batslime insane as me.
Even if you're not making games anymore, it'd still be good to have you around. You're a good reviewer, and managed the 8-bit contest rather well.
Remeber: God made you special and he loves you very much. Bye!
