Mostly Involving Robots: The Log

One thing every day. Can be anything, even a single text box. But one thing has to be done every single day. If not, someone yell at me.

Oddly, the fact that I'd be getting slimebucks out of this might actually push me to work harder so I have more accomplishments to mention. I'm kind of "in" to the arena V



Today was a productive day. Smile I hope to have many more like this. The wall, floor, and shelves were made today. That's a full 7 tiles.

I'm not all that great at the art deal, but I kind of hope that having enough variety in tiles can help the general look a lot. I'll probably make the store it's own tile set and never repeat a shelf tile. At least, not within a given store.

I like the graphics. The floor tiles remind me of LEGO sheets.

Today's work:

* 2 Walkabouts
* 1 Attack Graphic. Need to experiment to see what the different animations look like. Confused
* 5 maptiles, though only 3 are really "new" (I made a recolor of a wall)

I might mess around with music, though at some point I really ought to think about doing some form of "game"-related work, besides presentation. Hurr

Fixed some wallmaps. I feel almost embarrassed to log it, but I really wanna play Batman, and I had to do SOMETHING. V

Six new tiles today, making a single fountain. It's nice to have something non-boxy now.

And this point, I actually have enough graphics to make a demo out of. Not that I intend to rush one out just because I can, but now I'm not realeasing a demo because it's not ready, as opposed to I don't have the graphics. It's a small step, and one probably meaningless to anyone but me, but just the idea that I could theoretically release a demo at any time is a pretty huge step for me. Surprised (Granted, it'd have no music, but...)

I've been getting my friends to keep poking me, and I've kept posting here, and the staggering increase in my production is remarkable. Which is, I suppose, why I remark upon it.

I suppose it's kind of sad to think "I'm actually working on the damn thing" is something to be proud of, but I really think I've done more in the last week then I did in the two months prior to it

I lost most of the work I did today due to being dumb. But I hardly did work at all, so it works out kinda V.

Made a medium enemy, but he's only "eh". Still. Something.

One tile today, and one new enemy, the wily Swordhead, who joins the ranks of Griver, Cyke, Kendle, Lonliest, and the medium sized Mr. 9.

I'm going to need to change the names of my heroes and NPCs. Star Wars-y MS-5 type names are hard to keep track off. I went and gave all my enemies more distinctive names, but characters maybe need more thought.

Between Starcraft and Heroes, I didn't have much time, but I managed to do my first animated tile, anyway. Maybe I'll pretty it up next time I'm busy for a day.

It has been 8 days since I didn't do at least SOMETHING towards the game.

Starcraft, while fun, is death to my productivity. Sad

But I still managed to make a two-tile locker. My "thing a day" record is unblemished (I count the day as ending when I sleep, so I did something Saturday and something Sunday, not two things Sunday).

Day 10: Made an actual basic physical attack, and a new "ghost robot" enemy. Also went back and improved a pre-existing enemy a little (It was a floating enemy, and I gave him a shadow). Good times. Smile

It occurs to me that sooner or later I'll need to make some backgrounds for all these enemies to show up in. I'm hoping I'll be able to use the tiles I made, and then just fix it up a little.

Made two simple tiles, and some less simple enemies. I'm having trouble drawing things that aren't either crappy looking or kind of cute, so we may end up with a cuter game than I'd planned V

Starting working on a backdrop, with...eh.

At some point, I ought to think about making a game out of all these graphics.

Edited some tiles slightly. It's another "I didn't have time, so I did the minimum" day, but I'll try to make it up tomorrow. I was out with friends until 2am, and then Batman the Musical came out, so nonproductive day.
