So let's hypothetically assume some people want to play all the games in this contest, but aren't long-time OHRRPGCE developers. Could you explain to these hypothetical people how to play an .rpg file? And any compatibility issues with Windows Vista? I mean, someone might have them... :(

Attention, all players who aren't familiar with the OHRRPGCE! If you find yourself confronted with an RPG file that does not have an exe file with it, download this

Also, if you try to play an RPG file and it gives you a big red warning saying that it has features that are not supported, then you need to get this version instead

Also also, if you try to play an OHRRPGCE game on Windows Vista, and you experience crashing, Please let me know! We had some Vista compatibility issues. We are pretty sure they are fixed in the latest version but since we don't have a lot of Windows Vista testers, we need your feedback!

Attention All OHR Game authors! When you zip up your game, It is a pretty darn good idea to include a copy of game.exe renamed to match your RPG file name. Giving just the RPG file is fine when your only audience is other OHRRPGCE users, but when the audience includes others not familiar with the OHR, they will appreciate the convenience of an included executable very much! (Don't forget to include SDL.dll SDL_mixer.dll and LICENSE-binary.txt too!)

I still think it's a huge undertaking to play all the games in the contest for voting purposes, especially given that you have to play all the old versions to vote on "Most Improved." :(

I agree. Voting time may likely be extended.

I don't have Vista, but I do have Window 7 duel booted on my mac (hooray for the University getting it early!). If you'd like I can run some tests on it and see if anything freaks out. It's the x64 version too. Anything specific you'd like me to check out on it?
Sorry, not on topic with that. Carry on with your originally scheduled program.

Our Vista problem was rampant midi-music crashes, so if you can just test playing some games with Midi's that should be enough.

Gleaning through the old thread, you forgot to put the old version of Dawn in this thread:
http://www.slimesalad.com/forum/viewgame.php?t=2133
Just wanna be fair.

I only got one game left to play (BloodLust). I hope all you late guys realize that you've already lost half of your score. A perfect 5 becomes 2.5, and it's only getting worse, y'know! I'm going to assume everyone who hasn't explicitly stated they're dropping out is either aiming solely for the Completeness prize or forgot about this contest. Or maybe they talked to James somewhere else, I dunno. I only read Slime Salad.

Also, I've already won this contest! Devil
Naw, Phantom Tactics may give me a run for my money.

EDIT: Oh yeah, so far, two of the games just don't friggen work for me. I don't know if there's a problem with my computer, or if the makers actually made their game wrong, or gave us the wrong version. I can't input the password for part2 of Test of Normality, and Dawn, oi, I just assumed scripts aren't working or something, cuz sometimes I go through doors and get to completely wrong places, such as a huge featureless field with nothing in it and no return. Among other unfinished, unmarked content I can still access.

How long would you estimate the average play-time for Bloodlust is?

I want to play the new version all the way through, but I will probably skip through the old version using debug keys, just so I can get a feel of the differences.

The latest Bloodlust is 3-4 hours on average, and the old version is probably 1.5 hours at longest.

I also noticed a new version of Wandering Hamster is posted... yay!

I'm ready to vote now. So, the last day is Sept. 25th, right? I guess I'll hold off until then.

Oh crap, I'm atrocious at deadlines. I've beaten Mace's Wild and I think I'm a good bit into Phantom Tactics. Full stop. Surprised
