Wait, I honestly don't understand. Is this a house without a roof? Otherwise why are there shadows on the inside? What are the outer brown tiles? Dead grass? Shouldn't top right corners be 'slanted'?

The people in this part of the world in the game live in houses without floors and have plants growing inside. That explains some of these issues.

This is the first time maptiling shadows and such, and I haven't fully grasped logic yet. I won't be posting another screenshot for a long time, so I just hope some slack is cut.

Hey NN, I meant no offense. Post all the screenshots you want, I'm just mentioning what I think would improve it. But then again, I guess if you don't want other people giving ideas, then you're right, you oughtn't to post screenshots.

By the way, if there's no flooring in these houses, one thing I just thought of that might emphasize that would be having a little more discoloration on the floor tiles, like little bumps here and there or something like that. Not sure, just an idea.

I only really posted a screenshot because Momoka asked, but I really can't spend so much time making everything perfect while all of the tiles are incomplete (I already spent a ton of time trying to be perfect), because JSH can't continue the game without these graphics. I already said in a previous post that I addressed shadowing issues, so that shouldn't be a worry anymore.

Thanks to TMC's update to ohrgfx, I have resumed working on the game as Newbie continues to pump out graphics.

The tiles in these screenshots are _not_ finalized, but this should show some of the progress, I think. Love all the variety in NPCs, myself.

Going to try and post new shots occasionally. We're sill moving along; I've finally started testing some battles.

While I have not "rewritten" the OHR standard battle system like I did with Thanksgiving Quest, I am making every effort to ensure these fights are enjoyable. I should forewarn you that this game is not going to be a cakewalk; even the early battles will require thought and quick action to complete.

There are two difficulty levels. Mode A lets everyone get experience, even if they die. Mode B works in the traditional RPG manner. This might not actually matter that much, since in my experience/foresight things start going south in a hurry when a character dies in this game.

Newbie hasn't done the "Dead" graphics yet, if you're wondering. :P
I would estimate I am 12.5% finished with my sections of the game at this point. Graphics are MUCH farther along, and Hawk's music is about where I am. It is looking like music will delay the release, which is probably good.

Also, unrelated but I didn't know where else to post it:
I deleted my Livejournal recently. A few people have asked me why, and wondered if they or someone else had anything to do with it. I deleted that account for my own sake, as I tend to get involved in conversations and battles that I shouldn't, often when I'm angry at other things. Plus I'm undergoing some huge changes in my life right now, and I prefer to focus on things like makin' games in my downtime. I have been about twice as productive since I stopped visiting LJ and cut down my time here (not just on Motrya), so I do not think I will be going back.

(If for whatever reason LJ was the only way someone kept in contact with me, I am on Facebook, AIM, IRC and obviously here)

The graphics are as fantastic as everyone else has said.

But I hope Dayang is a placeholder name. It makes me think, "Dayang! Those are some nice battle graphics!"

Haha. Well, it is supposed to be pronounced "Die-Ang." He has to have an exotic name; it just suits him.

If the game is as hard as you say, would die-ang keep die-ing?

Good question, good pun.

Well, any veteran OHR player should be able to handle the game, I'm just sayin' the enemies are capable of killing you pretty effectively from battle #1, and you'll probably have to learn which spells are the most useful under certain situations.

I think the fire looks really interesting. The graphics as a whole are nice, but that especially caught my eye for whatever reason.

Thank you all for the compliments (especially on the fire spell). I can't let it be unsaid that backdrops aren't too good (Vikings of Midgard's backdrops are far superior in quality).

As for the battles, you can save anywhere and no random battles so it'll be like Darkmoor Dungeon where you can just try again, and like that game you heal after battle.

Dayang it, Mogri.

Make Dayang a word filter word, please.

Well, we've just been joined by VampiDucki, who will be the composer for the game!

Progress has been pretty good in the past few weeks.
