Pokémon Megathread - Don't Matter If You're Black Or White

For those that haven't heard, all around the states, Toys R Us will be giving out the Pokemon "Darkrai", a special rare Pokemon (which has a great ability) on May 31st and June 1st from noon to 4pm.

I saw it in my Nintendo Power magazine, and then I confirmed it on the official Pokemon website for those interested.

Misdreavus, Shieldon, Glameow, and Bonsly.
'Course, if I'm just behind and you don't need to fill out your own Pokedex so much, I'll take whatever version-specifics you like, though Shieldon's a must.

When's a good time to set up a trade for you?

Depends on if I can get onto WiFi, but Tuesdays @ 7PM EST is OK with me.

I could be at the library in half-an-hour, then.

Today is the last day to get the Darkrai Pokemon from Toys R Us. I forgot about it completely yesterday, but I called up the Toys R Us by my house and they're definitely doing it.

Soo... don't miss out? Heh.

I got mine on Saturday. It has a Brave nature which is kind of ok, although I don't plan to use him to compete so whatever.

I think I have a ton of Omanytes right now, with Surf, Ancientpower, Ice Beam, and Brine. They would at least get you some mileage out of the TM, anyway.

I'm also looking for a Mew, but I doubt anyone but the GTS can help me with that.

Yeah, Darkrai's effect isn't as awesome as I thought it was gonna be. But I think it's real cool how easy it is for people to get the rare Pokemon. Not that I want it really, but Manaphy wasn't that long ago. Maybe we'll be able to get some more cool Pokemon in the future.

If I could find a good way to trade/battle, I'd prolly play this more and more. Since I don't have wireless, it's kinda difficult to do this. I need to find one of those things that creates wireless from my modem...

I'm farther from my library now, but once my new laptop comes in I'll prolly get a router to set up an access point in my apartment. Could be a couple weeks from now, though.

Okay so guys I am stoked

I got a shiny Geodude from Stark Mountain last week. Today, my party got the Pokerus. Now I have a shiny Pokerus-contagious Geodude. It's pretty much the rarest thing ever and I haven't used it at all yet. I bet I could get like $50 for this guy on eBay.

I'm also working on a fighting team. I have a really good Staraptor, mostly by chance because I wasn't paying attention, but he is the right nature and I gave him good EVs and all that crap. I'm trying to figure out who to use with him. I have a decent Milotic and Tyranitar that are carryovers from Ruby, but I didn't know what an EV was back then so they're not fantastic.

My biggest annoyance in DP battling is that the battle tower will round down your levels to 50 but you can't do that in versus. Am I missing something?

I found a shiny Graveler in the mountain you find Heatran in. And I also have a shiny Meowth from Fire Red.

Does anyone know a way I can get wifi for free in my apartment? I have a dsl modem but no clue how I can get wifi...

You need a wireless router or USB adapter. Don't bother getting the Nintendo-branded one.

If anyone wants some Pokerus action (doubles all your EV gains), let me know and we can do some trading.

I am up for lots of battling, I need to use the teams I trained.

I have a ton of shinies I got from crazy people on the GTS. My pride and joy is a shiny Deoxys who arrived with no EVs who I have since trained into a special sweeping beast. I've also nabbed shiny Giratina, Diagla, and Latias, all of which I gave to my girlfriend. The only shiny I've ever run into in the wild was a Pelliper, who I also traded to my girlfriend.

And, some nutjob gave me an EVd female shiny Tyranitar. I was just looking for a female so I could breed my own.

Also, you can do level rounding in VS. over WiFi but not local VS. matches. It's really dumb.

ALSO, Mogri, I have a spare Adamant Larvitar who knows Dragon Dance and Outrage. I bred it myself. If you're looking to train a new Tyranitar I can hook you up. I also have Charmanders with the same egg moves, but I don't know what their natures are.

Anyone else pick up their Deoxys at gamestop yet? This promotion is going on this weekend and next. It's the same as the TRU Darkrai; wireless mystery gift.

The Deoxys is in Normal Forme and has Zap Cannon, Iron Defense, Psycho Boost, and Extremespeed (the signature moves of each of its forms), and is holding a NeverMeltIce (which makes no sense at all). As with any other Deoxys, you can change its Forme at the fallen meteorites on the east side of Veilstone city.

As with Darkrai, you can recieve the gift, go to the man in green at the Pokemart, save, then soft reset if you don't like your Deoxys's nature/IVs. I reset till I got a Calm nature, and converted this one to Defense form. I don't know when I'll train it if ever, but the set I'm going to give it is this one from smogon:

Deoxys-D @ Leftovers 252 HP / 172 Def / 56 SpD / 26 Spe
Nature: Calm
~ Agility
~ Taunt
~ Toxic
~ Recover

Basically this makes him like one of those shitheads in the battle tower who pops up and then Toxics your entire team then you lose and the trainer comes in and is like LOL, I WINNER! and by the way; you were on battle away from Palmer's second appearance!

and if attacking is your thing, may I reccomend a set of my own creation:
Deoxys-A @ Focus Sash 252 Sp.Atk/252 Spe
Nature: Timid or Modest
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Energy Ball
- Hyperbeam

Deoxys is my favorite legendary. He's completely badass and VERY versatile, you can fit a deoxys into practicailly any team.
